DIRECTOR, DIGITAL PLANNING
The Director should have cross-channel knowledge of digital media including display, social, mobile, vide, gaming, SEM/SEO, audience buying, programmatic buying, CRM, analytics and reporting. Retail or ecommerce experience is also preferred.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Director, Digital Planning has the primary responsibility for media planning activities on assigned accounts. He or she may serve as the senior client contact and will approve media plans and key tactics. The Director will also monitor account profitability and play a key role in new business activities. This role will involve account and media planning, buy negotiations, as well as some ad placement and copy rotations. The Director will also mentor mid-level supervisory staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish overall strategic approach with given clients, including the ability to see growth potential within existing accounts
Use foresight to build and provide value to client
Develop and maintain all client relationships
Aid in accountability for all budgets and billing related to clients
Provide staff with ongoing feedback as well as constantly evaluating resource allocations
Ensure all media deliverables are met on time
Effective articulate the applications of media research tools and resources
Provide staff with all the necessary tools and training to improve upon existing expertise
Supervise a group of media planning professionals responsible for media plan development
Serve as key liaison among various media groups that contribute to the overall media plan development process
Responsible for the implementation and stewardship of the print component of the media plan
Key day to day media contact for client
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree
7+ years interactive and/or direct response media background
7+ years of management experience
Ability to demonstrate industry knowledge across all media channels
Comfortable speaking in public
Ability to interact with all levels of staff
Effectively motivates staff, evaluates performance and provides feedback
Detailed awareness of client business issues, industry trends, consumer trends, promotional resources, market status and competition
Possesses strong written, presentation and verbal skills
Strong organizational and management skills
Interested in working on new business
Proven capabilities in strategic and conceptual development of promotion programs and brand marketing
