Job description

Baked by Melissa has an exciting opening for a self-driven, creative, and charismatic individual to join our team as Director of Marketing! This position is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to play an active role in the growth of the Baked by Melissa brand.

The ideal candidate for this position is an exceptional communicator with a passion for telling a great story, using digital and traditional mediums to forge a lasting connection between Baked by Melissa and our customers.

This is a full-time position, based at our corporate office in Union Square, NYC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and drives the organization’s marketing and communications strategy; proactively identifies opportunities to increase the visibility and profile of the Baked by Melissa brand

Directs the day-to-day operations of the Marketing department, managing the Creative, Public Relations, and Social Media teams

Develops compelling messaging that effectively defines the Baked by Melissa brand and communicates the Baked by Melissa story to various target audiences

Cultivates strategic partnerships to grow the overall brand of Baked by Melissa; serves as primary spokesperson and liaison for the company in engaging with media contacts, negotiating press coverage and placement, and securing publicity for Baked by Melissa partnerships and products

Directs the production of marketing materials; creates innovative and engaging content; oversees design, ensuring brand guidelines and execution requirements are met

Guides social media strategy and initiatives; maintains an active brand presence, engaging existing and potential customers across multiple social media platforms

Establishes performance metrics, and identifies opportunities to improve performance and ensure maximum return on marketing initiatives

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain effective relationships, and influence others

Highly skilled in problem solving and priority management; demonstrated ability to think strategically and reach logical conclusions that best service the organization as a whole

In-depth knowledge of marketing and communication strategies; demonstrated passion for current trends, celebrity, entertainment, and fashion news, high-profile media events, social media applications and platforms, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

5+ years management experience in an agency environment, with a focus on consumer products
Bachelors Degree is preferred
