Director - Business Development - Internet of Things - Oracle - San Francisco

Job description

The ISV & OEM Business Development team is responsible for market development, thought leadership and deal support. The team takes a programmatic approach to developing new business with Oracle software partners around key growth areas like Cloud, Engineered Systems and the Internet of Things.

The primary focus of this role will be to drive new business in the Internet of Things market space. This person will be an Internet of Things thought leader who can develop and deliver messaging that influences executive decision makers to take action.

Expectations for this role include:

Facilities the development of strategic marketing and new business plans for all assigned partners to meet or exceed assigned business goals
Works with Partners to identify opportunities and create demand through lead generation activities and target account selling strategies
Actively track joint sales pipeline and meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Develop and maintain relationships with global counterparts to leverage corporate initiatives and to ensure adherence to Alliances and Channel standards
Monitor partners business results, making recommendations for improvements to increase pentration for the strategic partners
Establish rules of engagement and operational escalation procedures to quickly identify and resolve issues

This person will provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. You will recommend and justify major changes to existing products/services/processes. The selected individual will have a demonstrated track record developing and managing Global Partnerships and driving Partner account activity. Strong analytical, sales channel and marketing skills are preferred with the ability to influence. Secondary education in Marketing or a related field preferred.

Desired Skills and Experience

Preferred requirements include:

A minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience (business development, product marketing, product management, etc...) in the technology market is required.
Experience in the infrastructure software market (databases, middleware, operating systems, servers, storage) is highly preferred.
Domain expertise for M2M and Internet of Things is highly preferred
Excellent demonstrable content development skills are required.
Strong customer facing experience is required.
A Bachelor's level degree, or equivalent, is required. An MBA is a plus.
The ability to travel (<50%) is required. This may include international travel. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal) are required
