Director - Agency Services - National Life Group - Burlington
Job description
The primary focus of this position is the leadership and management of the On-boarding and Contracting & Licensing departments within Field Services. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that contracting work is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with acceptable standards as well as for alignment with Equity Services, Inc.’s Licensing Director to enhance the process and experience for new registered agents. In addition, responsibilities will include ensuring strong alignment with the NLGroup Call Centers and Sales Desks, and will include supervising and directing the two teams (on both campuses) and for maintaining agency relationships, special projects and problem resolution.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with Legal, Compliance, Equity Services, Inc. and other all other internal business areas, field distribution, agencies and agents. This position plays a critical role in managing the service standards and relationship management with NLGroup’s production sources and field leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Creative problem solving skills and ability to review process from front to back for improvements
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with our agencies and distribution partners
Responsible for staffing, training and supervision of direct reports
Ensure that the business area is following established processes; lead and/or participate on the teams to improve processes if necessary
Prioritize, manage and oversee technological projects to improve departmental efficiency
Work with various Third Party Administrators on contracts and service levels and consistently work towards improving the agent experience
Review and approve invoices, wires and commission disbursements
Provide vision, strategic planning and thoughtful solutioning expertise for the enterprise and functional group
Develop direct reports by fostering and supporting career development, motivating, engaging and capitalizing in employee strengths
Build cross-functional partnerships with other business units and teams throughout the organization to deliver on business results
Recruit high potential talent for current and future responsibilities
Establish a highly effective team with positive morale
Provide overall guidance and feedback through regular one-on-one meetings, quarterly performance/development meetings and annual performance evaluations
Conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate open dialogue within group and cascade appropriate communications throughout department
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of financial services (life insurance and annuity) experience managing complex projects
Strong understanding of industry, strategic direction, organizational structure and overall business goals
Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to present to C-level management
Ability to meet established deadlines; must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as being a team player
Must be action and results oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex subject matter
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Must be able to successfully pass a background check
