Business Leader - Corporate Advisory Services - Political Risk - Eurasia Group - New York City


Job description
Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and motivated senior-level business development professional to lead, grow, and manage our Corporate Advisory Services team. This position may be located in the firm’s New York or Washington offices.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing the firm’s growth with corporate clients across multiple industry sectors, with a particular focus on sales and relationship management at the CEO and board level. You will bring existing senior client relationships, originate new business and work directly with executive and research leadership to develop a business plan that ensures company sales and profitability goals are met. You will participate in strategy development, annual budget processes and work closely with the firm’s CEO and head of sales.

You will demonstrate strong leadership and management skills and will lead the recruitment, training, mentoring and retention of a team of business development professionals in New York, Washington and London. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership capacity, management expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit. You will have industry experience in one or more of the following sectors: industrial products, retail and consumer, pharmaceuticals, or financials services. This experience will augment the firm’s existing and deep experience in energy and natural resources. Candidates with direct experience around political risk, economics, strategy, competitive intelligence, and other macro products and services will have an advantage.
You will be an experienced business development professional with a minimum of fifteen years’ consulting or professional services experience (professionals with more experience are encouraged to apply) preferably originating and delivering complex research products and services to senior executives in the C-suite, as well as in areas such as government affairs, new business development or strategy. Expertise and insight on structuring consulting engagements, developing pricing models, and internal sales would also be valuable.

You will have a proven track record of closing sales and developing large-scale relationships. Candidates with specific sector and product development expertise will have an advantage. You will also have the ability to manage existing relationships with a variety of top-tier clients and the ability to market macro and emerging markets products. Existing industry client base and contacts strongly preferred. You will regularly coordinate and liaise with our Directors of Business Development, the Directors of Research, and a cadre of analysts to continually build out the firm’s presence. You will have excellent analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills.
You will expect to travel as much as fifty percent of your time.
Desired Skills and Experience
You will have at a minimum an MA or an MBA. Applicants are required to have a demonstrable interest in Eurasia Group’s core political risk assessment competency and fluency with international affairs. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
