Position Description
Expedia Inc is seeking a Director, Payment Services who will drive management of existing process and controls and lead the effort to improve the end-to-end accounts payable function. You will foster an environment where excellence in effectiveness and efficiency, strong supplier focus, customer service, and risk mitigation are all promoted.
This position is part of a rapidly evolving organization that is a key component of Expedias growth plans and provides a great leadership opportunity. This position reports to the Senior Director of Financial Operations.
Our ideal candidate will have an extensive background in domestic and international accounts payable processing supporting new business growth and creating operational capacity. You will have a wide range of experience in worldwide payment processing in order to ensure Expedias suppliers and vendors are paid in the most effective and efficient manner possible. You will partner closely with Treasury, Tax, and Legal teams as research is done and decisions are made on legal entity requirements, banking relationships, and payment processes. The qualified candidate will be skilled in developing operational processes, be an experienced leader, and have a demonstrated ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives. In addition to managing teams, you will work closely with EI businesses to define and implement the appropriate operating model and strategic infrastructure. You will be based in Springfield, Missouri. Domestic and international travel is required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage worldwide accounts payable processing, supporting multiple products and brands across Expedia Inc.
- Strategic partner on financial and accounting operational matters across several functional areas, especially customer master data management, invoice processing, Concur expense management program, and purchasing and travel-card programs
- Keeps abreast of widely accepted forms of payment globally including experience with SEPA and local direct debit, banking infrastructures, and trends in payment processing
- Stays informed on domestic federal/state/local issues related to tax ID requirements, TIN matching, 1099 processing, and maintains environment free from reporting/filing errors
- Leads supplier and vendor payments strategy
- Establishes work processes, and develops policies and procedures to scale to a high growth business model and to exceed stretch targets for payment accuracy and timeliness
- Designs, implements, and maintains internal control environment in conjunction with SOX leadership
- Responsible for the retention, growth and management of talent.
- Participates in financial and data system needs, including assisting in development of business requirements, design, testing, implementation, documentation, and training
- Fosters an environment of strong process discipline, promotes strong team interaction, and must be effective at working across the organization to share ideas and information with peers and with business leaders.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Four year college/university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 12+ years of domestic and international payment processing, finance, accounting, and operations experience is required
- Demonstrated experience managing large teams and an ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives
- Experience with global finance operations focused on accounts payable, payment processing,
- Expertise in international banking requirements and international tax requirements
- Strong experience with a variety of systems such as Oracle Financials, Concur, and Sales Force
- Strong experience in financial and accounting operational processes, financial analysis, and process engineering
- Excellent problem-solving, data-driven analytical, financial modeling, and statistical skills
- Strong experience managing departmental budgets, and setting and achieving targets for key metrics.
