Director - e-Commerce - North America - Millennium & Copthorne Hotels - New York City


Job description
The Corporate Headquarters of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels North America is looking for a dynamic Director of e-Commerce, North America, whose primary role is to manage the online marketing strategy for the hotels in Europe through the various online marketing channels with the objectives of driving traffic to the website, raising the profile and brand image of the company and increasing revenue. The Director of e-Commerce, North America will also need to ensure the maximum efficiency of the digital marketing budget.

As the Director of e-Commerce, your key responsibilities will include:
Setting an annual sales forecast and budget for brand online revenue as well as all digital marketing tactics
Experience with revenue management or financial analysis
Ability to negotiate rates with national and property level revenue teams
Ability to negotiate contractual terms with vendors
Ensure all web content meets established content management standards while maintaining consistency with site design requirements
Creation of landing pages
Training of hotel teams on content management system
To oversee and administer regional PPC programme
Remarketing campaigns including display media banners; tracking both internally and externally.
To manage SEO strategy and activities:
To develop and manage the annual online calendar plan
Reporting, analysis and on-going optimisation of all online marketing channels to reach annual targets.
To manage agencies to deliver strategic goals; develop and modify strategy to suit business needs.
Managing web content and reporting of site metrics:
Management of digital image library
Advise on web developments to improve accessibility by search engines.
Content strategy for company blog
Responsibility for the strategy and activities of the regional affiliate programme including implementation of a 3rd party social media agency or resource
To create, plan and report email marketing campaigns
Monitoring and coordination of social media activities with agencies and hotels
To support the Global team’s SEO efforts by providing local knowledge
Management and migration of Agency Microsite and database to global platform
Management of one direct report
Desired Skills and Experience
Required skills:

The candidate is required to be a dynamic and self-motivated individual who is confident and has excellent communication skills across all levels.

Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Experience with revenue management or financial analysis
Ability to analyse website performance data (i.e. financial, statistical and/or performance).
Knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems. Adobe AEM (formerly known as CQ5) experience will be an advantage.
Experience in web content management
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
Basic Photoshop/photo editing skills
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
Experience managing content and production for high traffic websites
Effective time management
Ability to work on own initiative and to tight timescales when necessary

Required qualifications/experience

Bachelors Degree required
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in the hospitality industry
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook


Preferred qualifications/experience:
Advanced degree in business studies/marketing preferred
Prior international business experience
Experience with web analytics tools - Omniture Site Catalyst
Experience with Content Management Systems (Adobe AEM)
Supervisory experience advantageous.
