Job description
The Director, Home Delivery Operation is the division head for the Home Delivery Operation Division, which is a operation and control oriented department falling under the direct control of President of SALs. It is tasked with demand management, inventory management throughout the cross-dock network, logistics quality management (On-time etc), monitoring of point to point deliveries, originating in Samsung DC and ending in customer home.
Most importantly the Director, Home Appliance Operation is responsible for new customer set-up and following up with consumer logistics related issues. The department is responsible for set up new business of home delivery logistics process and system, beginning from 2013 which is critical issue for Home Appliance business and also other Consumer Electronics including TVs.
The Director is expected to develop policy, vision, and strategy to meet the ever changing needs of the market and customer demand. In addition, the team leader must be constantly seeking new opportunities through creativity and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute the strategic vision for Samsung’s home delivery operation based on the SVP direction and President’s vision
Lead and direct the activities of staff members and shipping/transportation agents in order to provide effective product receipt, cross-docking, inventory control, order fulfillment, and delivery to customers to achieve business objectives, product availability, logistics, and organizational goals within established time frames and specifications
Train, mentor, and focus the team on results – update the latest technology, and ensure each team member is connected properly with the SCM team, 3PL, and customers
Communicate with 3PL to direct and manage strategic partnership, evaluate and report performances
Weekly Home Delivery Management/ Monthly Sales Estimation and Track Progress
Channel stock management by material & location. Return and back-haul inventory control
Weekly OTRQ Performance Tracking & Lead-time Analysis, Customer satisfaction survey result
Accountabilities/Performance Standards (How will duties be measured)
Daily operational reviews, weekly reports to the President, quarterly strategic plan and operational presentations
GWP, focus groups, employee surveys, staff interviews
Weekly Operation Achievement. Monthly sales versus target
Crossdock channel stock report
Weekly OTRQ report. Improvement from previous year’s performance
Monthly customer satisfaction scorecard
Customer OTRQ reports; internal ADC reporting and measurement
Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
This position is responsible for the US Home Delivery logistics collaboration.
BA/BS degree or Master’s degree preferred
7-10 years experience in a fast paced, Home Delivery logistics environment either from Retail or 3PL or both.
High level system and process automation knowledge; advanced last mile logistics operations including TMS/WMS/ERP
Understanding and Experience of end customer requirements, transportation and route planning, US municipality regulations on installation
Advanced supply chain management skills; ability to think, lead, and execute in a complex, and constantly changing environment
A person who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, who is driven by the challenge of growing a business
Proven leadership skills to operate as an effective growth and change agent, while maintaining the “can do” attitude, spirit and morale of the organization is a must
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the executive presence to interact effectively and establish immediate credibility with colleagues, vendors and customers
