Job description
The Director of Competitive Intelligence provides leadership and direction in the development of the corporate strategic pricing program.
Essential Functions:
Manage Corporate Strategic Pricing Programs
Develop, present and implement strategies for all of the Company’s businesses
Monitor details and analyze results to suggest changes to individual prices and category or business price strategies
Document key strategies and noted changes
Collaborate with Category Management team to document, implement and analyze subclass level strategies
Manage major price strategy changes such as retail price zones and web fighter brand strategies
Analyze and track progress on strategic pricing decisions
Ensures the creation and utilization of proper authority for all pricing decisions
Performs detailed audits to ensure pricing processes are compliant with corporate strategic pricing initiatives

Manage Company’s Price Optimization Application(s) in partnership with Category Management team
Manage relationships with vendors
Identify and manage any special analyses with our price optimization partner

Support Management of Margin
Analyze direction of margin by category and make recommendations to support company’s margin goals
Analyze and manage competitive match and other P&L lines in support of managing company margin

Provide Promotional Planning Analysis and Support
Maintain and audit cost change policies and processes ensuring that all policies are properly executed, all audit requirements are maintained and all cost changes and related value price changes are executed
Track and communicate competitive and industry business results, pricing and trends
Provide analytical support to the Merchandising team to assist group in making better decisions
Participate in the leadership of the Merchandising team to drive sales, manage margin and improve our competitive advantage
Lead weekly competitive pricing meeting with the CEO and other members of senior management
Respond to requests for information, analysis and ideas from CEO and other members of senior management
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Qualification:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience.
Required Knowledge:
Working knowledge and strong familiarity with various competitive pricing strategies.
Strong working knowledge of the basics of retail business to include all aspects of merchandising, pricing, retail operations, warehouse operations, direct-to-consumer business, financial operations and reporting.

Experience Required:
8 – 10 years related experience.
