Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Electric Utility Operations, the successful candidate will manage regional electric utility operations to ensure safe and reliable power throughout the central region for CL&P.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to serve as a champion of organizational change.
Demonstrates ability to achieve and influence results through others both internal and external to the division.
Builds and maintains networks of key contacts across the organization facilitating organizational efficiencies.
Manages and directs safe, reliable and efficient division operations and new service.
Manages divisional O&M and capital program budgets. Works closely with asset management.
Fosters compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and with Company policies and procedures.
Promotes timely and efficient restoration of electric service.
Supports interaction with customers, community officials and the public at large.
Active participation in a leadership role with strong community outreach focus
Coordinates planning and project engineering including service reliability and quality of service.
Manages coordination of training for skills development and enhancement.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar degree strongly preferred. An advanced degree or MBA desirable.
12-15 years of electric power distribution experience required
Significant background in the operation and maintenance of electric utility grade power transmission and distribution systems, including experience in emergency preparedness and system restoration, engineering, maintenance of distribution facilities and infrastructure and process improvement required.
Strategic Leader who demonstrates competency and proficiency in developing effective teams by holding others accountable and applying knowledge and skill to solve problems and respond promptly, appropriately and constructively to employees.
Thinks and acts analytically; makes sound decisions to support the mission; applies quality management principles to drive efficiencies and productivity.
