Director of Risk and Sustainability
Cisco Supply Chain Operations

This position will lead a high performing team chartered with developing and executing the Supply Chain Operations end-to-end Sustainability and Risk strategy. This team partners cross functionally with all Supply Chain functions, suppliers and corporate groups to deliver leading risk and sustainability capabilities for Cisco. This position requires considerable leadership, passion, and collaborative work skills.

Key responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Cisco’s Supply Chain Operations strategic plan for Risk and Sustainability.
• Monitor, influence and synthesize new trends, regulations and stakeholder requirements in the areas of Risk (including natural disasters and other disruptions to supply chain continuity) and Sustainability (environmental, ethics and labor rights).
• Advocate and champion risk and sustainability programs with Supply Chain and broader Cisco Executives.
• Be a recognized thought leader and primary point of contact/ knowledge expert on supply chain risk and sustainability programs.
• Develop and maintain key metrics for success for the Risk and Sustainability programs.
• Participate in and influence industry and other consortiums (NGO’s Universities, etc.) to develop standardized approaches and best practices in sustainability and risk.
• Represent Cisco at public speaking engagements, industry/award events, and other industry and community activities.

Skills Required:

High-energy, strategic thinker with solid judgment, and a passion for risk and sustainability.
• Demonstrated current knowledge of risk and sustainability issues facing technology firms (in an outsourced manufacturing environment) and experience implementing innovative solutions.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor diverse teams and projects.
• Experience implementing ISO type management systems such as ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Excellent communications and writing skills for a variety of audiences ranging from manufacturing operators to executives, and external shareholders.
• Ability to understand technical details and communicate them in a personable yet persistent manner.
• Ability to see trends and potential impacts, and subsequently develop proactive plans and programs to minimize risk and impact to business.
• Ability to influence senior executives through strength of ideas and articulating business value of risk and sustainability programs.
• Global perspective and international experience a must.
• Proven track record of implementing strategic programs through collaboration and influence.
• Able to influence others and collaborate with a wide range of groups including supplier management team, legal, manufacturing, risk management, communications and marketing.
• Ability to take ambiguous requirements and turn them into tangible roadmaps with business value.

Qualifications:

10+ years relevant experience in sustainability and Risk. Emphasis and hands on experience with Social Sustainability is required.
• Supply Chain experience required
• Prior experience leading a Risk and Sustainability team in a global, high tech environment.
• Demonstrated interest and passion in this field.
• BS in relevant field, MS/MBA preferred.
