About the Role
The responsibilities of this position center around formulating and executing a mobile strategy that supports success and adoption of Edmodo in the K-12 classroom. In support of that, the individual will spend more than half of his/her time actively sourcing, selecting and negotiating partnerships aligned to engineering and business requirements. Foreign and domestic travel requirements are initially estimated to be around 25% of your time.
Responsibilities
Work cross-functionally within Edmodo to assess current and future needs
Collaborate with functional leaders to define strategic priorities and develop roadmap
Successfully source and secure a range of relationships in support of strategy
Manage relationships post-deal completion to ensure continuous improvement in products and services delivered
Serve as an advocate for partners within Edmodo and identify areas for growth via partnerships
Develop long-term roadmap with focus on cross-functional collaboration, scalability, and impact
Maintain expert knwledge of market trends including rigurous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, and technical improvements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic performance; MBA a plus
7 + years experience, including 3-5 years of related business development experience within a high-growth technology company
Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex deals, think strategically, and understand nuanced mobile product issues
Passion for social technologies and a deep understanding of the consumer internet/social media products and trends
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; namely, a demonstrated ability to clarify and summarize complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
Excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects
Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
Strong analytical skills
Fast learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional Candidates
Experience at mobile device manufacturer, carrier, and/or related start-up is highly desirable
Familiarity and experience with Android operating system is highly desirable
Have had exposure to educational technologies directed at the K-12 market
Demonstrated innovation related to strategic sourcing, vendor relations, quality assurance and associated measurement systems for mobile device OEM’s
