Position Description:
Senior Generalist supporting the Americas Equity business, which totals over 750 employees across the Delta One and Derivatives businesses as well as the Risk Management, Strat and Administrative groups supporting those businesses.
This role will provide and oversee senior generalist support to the America’s based employees within the Global Institutional Equity Division (IED). He/she would manage an HR junior generalist and be responsible for coordinating HR efforts for the business across generalist HR coverage, recruiting, Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, and Data & Analytics. The role reports into the Head of HR for the Global Institutional Equity Division and Global Research Department.
He/she must be able to operate effectively across the full range of HR disciplines and be able to work with Firm Management and Senior HR colleagues across businesses. This role offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with the business on a range of interesting and challenging initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
The candidate will work closely with the Head of Global Equity and their partners in Recruiting, Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Data & Analytics and fellow generalists to implement a number of HR initiatives/projects across the Division. He/she will additionally lead a team that is focused on the following:
Resourcing – Partner with Recruiting to:
• Identifying the most effective way to attract and source top talent for both lateral and graduate recruitment
• Work with and influence managers to ensure high caliber of candidates
• Work with managers to set appropriate compensation levels for new hires
• Ensure our hiring managers are provided the appropriate resources to be effective in their recruitment efforts
Talent Management:
• Create strategy around year round evaluation which is aligned with business
• Create and oversee the Divisional Promotion processes
• Within the context of business priorities, work proactively with managers to identify and develop top talent and successors to critical roles
• Partner with Learning & Development team to develop career maps and development plans
Reward and Compensation:
• Run the year end compensation planning process in collaboration with the Global Head of Equity and Head of Data & Analytics and advising managers to ensure pay for performance, parity of awards, robust assessment of promotion candidates etc
• Staying abreast of market developments to ensure ability to proactively provide business with valuable market insight
• Ownership for the completion of monthly audits, in order to ensure accurate and reliable data, working closely with the Data Manager and Administrator, giving guidance as necessary
Skills Required:
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
Technical Skills required:
• Extensive Generalist experience, more recently acting as a Business Partner
• Trusted advisor – acts as an advisor and consultant to senior clients; clients seek out advice
• Is treated as one of the management team of the BU’s supported
• Ability to work with diverse client groups
• Uses relationships to influence senior clients to achieve best strategic outcome for firm.
• Able to contextualize results of actions on other areas of the business and HR
