SUMMARY
The Norgren - Kloehn Operations Manager/Director will supervise the manufacturing process within the established guidelines and standards to produce the highest quality, lowest cost product in a safe and clean environment. Provide consistent, fair and timely feedback to team members through various channels, i.e., one on one opportunities, reviews, coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with the company culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in development and implementation of product and process improvements for all areas in manufacturing in support of the overall business objectives.
Manage the efforts of operating teams in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the product design specifications.
Drive the manufacturing area forward with a shop-floor focus using lean manufacturing techniques.
Manage team member relations issues, partnering with Human Resources as necessary for facilitation.
Evaluate team member performance and development needs in conjunction with team member's plans to challenge their potential.
Budget and operating plan accountability. Develop methods to track and execute adherence to the financial plan.
Assist in the development of standardized work instructions for all operational related positions and activities.
Provide perspectives on business plans, profitability improvements, and policies and procedures.
Keep abreast of technological innovations and identify, design and direct activities that improve product and packaging profitability.
Utilizes the technical resources on shift for the preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment problems, with the objective of effectively using these resources to achieve desired performance levels.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises the Department Supervisor and assembly/fabrication staff for assigned department
Desired Skills & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Five years of manufacturing operations management experience required.
Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university required
A concentration in Production, Operations, Industrial Engineering or Logistics Management preferred.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word word processing software and MS Excel spreadsheet software.
Certificates and Licenses
Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM) certification strongly preferred.
