Job Description

Director of Product Management
This key position reports to the SVP of Product Development.

Location: Burlingame, CA

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Director of Product Management. You will be one of the unifying forces behind our client’s product strategy and execution, combining feedback from sales, marketing, services, development, customers and prospects to help set the strategic vision and lead the execution on new features and products.

The Director will guide products and their features from conception to launch.

v Responsibilities will include gathering requirements, helping to define product vision and strategy and working with engineers to deliver solutions.
v You will drive detailed functional specification for product expansion and improvement through collaboration with engineering, service, sales and marketing teams.
v You will need to move seamlessly between the execution details of a specific project to the larger strategic picture of how the product will evolve.
v This is a hands-on position that requires 50%+ of the time writing product specs and working with engineers.
v You will have total ownership of product
v Be responsible for UI Redesign and Reporting infrastructure
v Will work with team to do mock-ups, however, will personally write PRD’s/MRD’s.
v 50% of job is writing specs, speaking with Execs to set product strategy, performing competitive analysis and then working with Engineering to implement)

Desired Skills & Experience

Required Skills and Experience:
B.S. in Marketing, Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
MUST HAVE 5+ years experience building products for a SaaS offering.
Ideally you will have experience with both large and small companies.
Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to learn new skills.
8-15+ years of product management experience within a Software offering
Minimum 5+ years experience building internet products and services.
Minimum 5 years in a HANDS-ON Director or similar level role (50% of job is writing specs, speaking with Execs to set product strategy, performing competitive analysis and then working with Engineering to implement)
Extensive experience with MRDs, PRDs, creation of clickable demos, product prioritization, and product launch activities.
Extensive experience managing requirements for complex software development projects.
The ability to create product content.
Experience with VMS, resource management, or staffing solutions and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Technical, graphical, UI interactive and light programming experience is also preferred.
Experience working for large Vendor Management Systems/Companies like: Kelly Services, Manpower, Adecco, Randstad, IT Navigator, Workforce Logic OR companies like Computer Associates, HP working on Resource Management Applications/CRM’s is acceptable.
