Job Description
We have the following opening for a Senior Software Engineer in the Cable Access Business Unit (CABU). This business unit is focused on CMTS, HFC and Fiber Transport Solutions for Broadband Cable MSOs, delivering end-to-end network solutions and enabling the connected life. The engineer will design and build software for a next-generation, high-density, high-availability Cable platform that supports advanced video, data and voice applications. Opportunities to contribute in various technology areas including Platform Software, Linux-based Software Infrastructure, Multi-core processor, DOCSIS, IOS-XE, CPP, and video.

- Design and develop platform and infrastructure software for a chassis-based systems
- Write software design specifications with system architecture view and object-oriented methods
- Design, configure, and test Voice, Video and DOCSIS solutions across end to end systems

Desired Skills & Experience
Requirements:
- Solid software design skills. Good understanding of Algorithms, Data Structures and OS fundamentals
- Extensive C programming experience in embedded system development; C++ is a plus.
- Knowledge of embedded Real time OS or Linux
- Knowledge of router/switch software/hardware architecture
- Experience of router/switch protocol/application software development
- Development experience with chassis-based high-performance systems is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work as part of a distributed team
- Prior work on DOCSIS and video products is desirable
