Job Description
Force10 currently has an open position for Sr. Product Line Manager in San Jose, California.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned product management professional with deep switching and routing expertisestrong knowledge of IP routing and IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) IPv6, MPLS and Network Security, as well as L2 protocols (STP, MSTP, 802.1ad), QoS, traffic management and an understanding of the software and hardware requirements to deliver these features.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the determining the roadmap from customer requirements through and beyond General Availability. So he or she must understand the engineering process and organization, and be able to establish credibility with the engineering teams. Ideally he or she spent 3+ years in engineering (or related discipline) before transitioning into product management.
Similarly, the successful candidate must understand the sales process and organization, and be able to establish credibility with and demonstrate value to the sales organization.
Finally, the successful candidate should have the ability to exercise broad independent judgment on a regular basis. Ability to solve virtually all team and cross-functional problems with little or no manager input or assistance. Ability to build consensus in the face of divergent interests while staying true to customer requirements. Ability to tackle complex issues in creative ways and use originality, ingenuity and expertise to create effective and lasting solutions.
Looking for 10+ years industry exp, BS/BSE with MBA preferred
