Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Director, Procurement for our Parsippany, New Jersey location. This position is responsible for directing and developing Daiichi Sankyo (DSI) sourcing and procurement activities; and crafting, executing, and ensuring coordination for strategic sourcing initiatives, all facets of supplier management, procure to pay process management and the overall strategic procurement organization. Additionally, the incumbent will identify and implement best practices in procurement and supplier management; and be responsible for developing sourcing and supplier management strategies that support DSI’s commercial and operational objectives
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will oversee the development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies for all spend categories, services and initiatives that complement and support key business objectives; ensure the execution of procurement strategies across the firm; and direct the development and ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition, management and reporting of third-party spend across the enterprise. The individual will be required to work with the Executive Director, Finance to develop and execute on a long-term strategy regarding the maturity of the procurement function at DSI.
Skills
Education/Experience:
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of procurement experience including a minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing experience or commensurate experience in related functions; MBA is preferred. Candidates must have prior experience with proven success in the implementation of procurement best practices; successfully developed and implemented effective business strategies which call for the coordination of activity from more than one functional area; and in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry. Strong financial/analytical acumen; "Hands On” management style and a minimum of 5 years experience managing direct reports; and intuitive ability for critical thinking and quantitative analysis are important skills in this role.
