Job Description

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Director, New Product Planning - Portfolio Management Strategy & Analytics for our Parsippany, New Jersey location. This position is responsible for driving the Portfolio Management Platform and Analytical processes while coordinating with DSI NPP senior management, TA Directors and NPP-BD Teams to lead the development of TA, Portfolio and BD/M&A strategies; leading the continued development of the Portfolio Platform to drive commercial scenario planning processes across all therapeutic areas that could guide Clinical Development planning decisions; driving Long Range Planning analysis activities to support pipeline and BD recommendations; and directing and developing staff to effectively perform all of the aspects of Portfolio Management Strategy and Analytics.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will drive Portfolio Management activities that will provide commercial guidance for pipeline product and Business Development assessments; support DSI pipeline prioritization for GCEC recommendations; lead Portfolio Management efforts that could guide TASC/IST recommendations on a consistent and routine basis; lead and manage the creation of portfolio optimization, prioritization, tradeoff and Monte Carlo analyses on a systematic and routine basis and present analyses and recommendations to Senior Management; and provide strategic input to the New Product Market Research/BD Group to support the seeking, identification and evaluation of assets that align with Portfolio, BD/M&A and Therapeutic Area Strategies in coordination with the NPP-BD Group.
Skills

Education/Experience:
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years experience with in Business Development, Portfolio Management, Brand/Strategic Planning and Commercial Assessments within the pharmaceutical and/or financial services industries. MBA and/or PhD degree in a scientific discipline is strongly preferred and an emphasis in health sciences, marketing, finance or business management is preferred. Ideal candidate will have broad therapeutic area experience and atleast 5 years of people management experience. Knowledge of cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology and immunology is preferred. Deep and broad pharmaceutical background and analytical skills to integrate scientific and commercial knowledge into business recommendations and knowledge of analytical software and models is required. Global experience is preferred.
