Job Description
The Enterprise Data Architecture Group reports into the Head of Enterprise Architecture in Technology Office of Visa, Inc., and collaborates with management, staff and customers on data strategy, architecture, rationalization, integration and quality. The Enterprise Architecture Group works with the product organization and IT delivery organizations to maximize the value of IT investments by aligning them to the Corporate and Technology strategy.
Responsibilities
* Be a key contributor to the overall data strategy and architecture programs
* Interact regularly with senior and executive business and IT management
* Build strong cross-organizational relationships and effectively influencing staff across the IT organization and broader enterprise
* Define and evolve enterprise data best practices in areas that include, but are not limited to, standards, principles, processes and methodologies, infrastructure, applications, quality, rationalization, data model, etc.
* Lead the technical and business discussions relative to data strategy and aligning architectural strategy with business goals
* Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of the Enterprise Data Architecture group
* Work with business and IT partners to promote a common understanding of what data architecture is and what it is used for, how it can enable the business to achieve its goals and objectives, and its role within the scope of the overall technology and business architecture
* Participate as needed in various Technology Office initiatives and programs, such as IT investment planning, architecture governance, and partner management
* Collaborate across global business and technology organization, providing sound analysis and change leadership
* Work with business partners to define and design business processes and functions to identify and promote key enablers (technologies and processes) to achieve Visa's business strategy.
* Drive towards an enterprise data model which is viewed, interpreted and used in a consistent manner
* Analyze and propose solution alternatives for data quality, reconciliation and integration across various platforms and applications
* Establish and implement data architecture-related policies, procedures and standards with the help of other IT and business functions
* Adhere to the Technology Office processes, standards and methodologies
* Create reference architectures for key business subjects and technology areas
* Champion the needs of various Visa subject areas in the Client, Consumer, Merchant, Products and Services and Corporate vertical domains
* While this role will initially be an individual contributor, we anticipate that it will eventually lead a team consisting of fulltime employees, contractors and consultants, onshore and offshore
* Former role as Chief Architect a definite plus
* Financial services and payment industry experience a definite plus
* Experience in one or more domains of Client (Banks, Financial Institutions); Consumers; Merchants, Products and Services and Corporate (Finance, HR, CRM, etc.) a definite plus
* Experience working with large global multinationals. International experience a definite plus
* Experience with a wide range of technologies and platforms
* Experience in defining and implementing effective IT governance frameworks and architectural processes
* Deep knowledge of/experience with
* Architectural instantiation of analytics data models and reporting architecture infrastructure
* Architectural data solutions to support predictive analytics, modeling and simulations
* Unstructured data integration
* Alignment of logical enterprise data models with BI data models
* Architectural data solutions to support predictive analytics, modeling and simulations
* Integration and consolidation architecture of disparate technology platforms
* Executive presence; highly effective communicator; well honed influencing and negotiating skills
* Strategic thinker; visionary; innovative
* Excellent operational skills; quality and results oriented
* Strong client service orientation
* Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
* Knowledge of data architecture processes, methods, and frameworks, including proficiency in business process modeling and redesign, requirements management, and research tools. Strong technical knowledge of application delivery methods and familiarity with how portfolios of systems work together to create enterprise solutions
* Extensive experience with system modeling including process and data models
* Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and business/IT partner interaction skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally
* Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust, confidence, and intellectual integrity with both business and IT partners
* Proficiency to multi-task and work independently
* Ability to suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
* Experience leading teams of 10 or more (combination of fulltime, contractors and consultants, onshore and offshore) a plus
* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline highly desired
