Building on IQVIA’s legacy as the world’s largest provider of product development and integrated healthcare services, the IQVIA SCC combines focused cellular therapy expertise and extensive drug development and commercialization experience of IQVIA and its partners to support all phases of the development program. The SCC accelerates stem cell development from candidate identification to market authorization by providing end-to-end strategic and operational services.
Within the SCC, the Accelerating Center the (AC) Director will provide oversight and drive the strategic vision of the clinical development services offered by the SCC, including:
The Accelerating Center Director is a key leadership position in the Stem Cell Center, and the role is mandated as part of the grant that funds the Center.
The Accelerating Center director is responsible for working with clients to ensure that they are moving their assets from the laboratory into the clinical - the underlying mandate from the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CRIM) which led to the creation of the Stem Cell Center.
The AC Director is responsible for identifying and working with customers to help them win CIRM grants, and to connect them with services within IQVIA that will generate business for the company.
The AC Director, also manages the CIRM relationship and is a key member of the SCC Leadership team, with day-to-day responsibilities for the administration of the organization.
The AC Director can have up to 3 reports in the SCC.
The AC Director is also directly responsible to work with the broader IQVIA organization (both Sales and Operations) to ensure the generation and pull-through of business from SCC clientele.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous senior management experience running a business unit
Strong negotiating skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
Strong experience in clinical development strategy, planning, and execution
Strong subject matter expertise in stem cells and regenerative medicine
Previous experience developing early stage clinical products
Minimum Required Education and Experience
PhD and 5 years relevant experience; or Master degree and 8 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
