Communications Director Redis Labs Mountain View

This position will play a critical role in articulating sustainable differentiated value proposition and establishing usage tactics for all forms of communications to ensure messaging alignment and harmony across the company.

This position is responsible for engaging with bloggers, trade publications and business media channels to define and amplify the superior Redis Labs position in the modern database marketplace. Success metrics will include share of voice, tonality and depth/breadth of engagement across all media types. Management of external agencies on retainer or project basis is also part of the role.
The Communications Director is expected to be an exceptional communicator, proactive media practitioner, creative thinker and a collaborative player who can roll up their sleeves and lead cross-functional teams throughout the organization.

This position presents a significant growth opportunity for the individual that thrives in a fast paced, high-visibility and dynamic environment. The Communications Director will report directly to the CMO.

Responsibilities
Develop messaging guide and tactical implementation principles and policies.
Select and manage external media agencies and contractors.
Write media releases and manage distribution/circulation.
Track and report on key external success metrics, including but not limited to share of voice, tone and analyst report inclusions.
Build relationships with key influencers including bloggers, analysts, editors, etc.
Develop creative themes to attract and engage media thought leaders and influencers.
Manage company-wide speaker’s bureau.
Maintain awards calendar and manage the submission/tracking process.
Requirements
5+ years in Communications or Product Marketing in the enterprise software space.
Prior experience with databases, infrastructure software, SaaS offerings.
Track record of building hyper-scale B2B brands via cross-channel communications and relationship building.
Tier one business media relationships are expected.
Past experience selecting and managing global PR firms is required.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or computer science.
Exceptional communications skills (written, verbal and public speaking).
Fantastic people skills with an ability to think on the fly and interact well with external audiences.
This position requires traveling up to 20% of the time.
