What You'll Do
· You will lead a geographically distributed large engineering team to drive execution of Cisco Hyper flex roadmap
· Partner with cross-functional core stakeholders within engineering, product management, escalation support, sales and field teams to lead the technology, shape future product strategy and facilitate key technical decision points.
· Collaborate with multiple engineering groups within Cisco and external partners to drive Features, Releases, E2E solutions.
· Create a culture of engineering execution excellence coupled with world-class innovation.
· Build, retain and motivate a team of talented top talent and passionate leaders as we grow the Bangalore organization
· 15 - 20+ years of software development experience, with a strong track record of leadership in technology strategy and product delivery.
· 5+ years proven experience in software engineering leadership roles, managing large engineering teams. Managing multiple managers and senior managers is essential.
· Strong technical expertise on UCS/Blade/Rack Server, Virtualization, Containerization, API services, Micro-services, Converged/Integrated Systems, Hyper convergence, Storage, Security and cloud technologies.
· Agile and lean practices, DevOps culture and iterative feedback based development is a key aspect of our culture. Prior Startup experience or culture highly recommended.
· Sound technical depth - ability to go deep into technical architecture and design details to help team make right decisions.
· Strong engineering delivery and execution track record using Agile or TDD and continuous deployment process
· Proven leadership skills on building leadership talent pipeline thru coaching/mentoring, collaboration beyond boundaries, managing
without authority and leading change.
Highly desirable competencies
· Bachelor's or Master's degree on Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred. MBA preferred (but not mandatory)
· Experience as an Engineering Director, overseeing Software Development Managers in a networking or storage company
· Ability to deliver quality software in time-constrained environments
· Experience in Hyper Convergence Space will be an added advantage.
