Director Vendor Direct Macy's San Francisco

The Director, Vendor Direct will drive Macy’s efforts to significantly expand the online assortment through vendor direct partnerships. The Director, Vendor Direct works collaboratively with key Macy’s partners to leverage all ecommerce levers including merchandising, customer experience, marketing and technology to scale the Vendor Direct program and drive significant revenue and profit growth across multiple categories and families of business (FOBs.) Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:

• Identifies potential vendors and works cross functionally with key Merchant partners to outline vendor director assortment strategies, including the definition and prioritization of assortment opportunities.
• Provides leadership and guidance for all aspects of vendor onboarding, item setup and data governance to create a best in class customer experience.
• Creates vendor direct joint business plans, sets financial goals, monitors vendor performance and drives vendor accountability.
• Leads and develops a team focused on launching an expanded vendor assortment online. Establishes and socializes processes and best practices.
• Defines and elevates technology needs to define future enhancements and improve item setup work flow/site experience.
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7+ years of business experience in e-commerce/multi-channel retail environment.
• Retail buying, planning and/or forecasting or related experience preferred.
• Prior experience with Vendor Direct business models preferred.
• Experience in data mining and predictive analysis.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to communicate with all leadership levels.

Reasoning Ability:

• Excellent project management skills and strong multitasking ability.

Other Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and coach teams.
• Proven ability to build strong cross functional relationships and influence strategic direction across teams.
• Knowledge of merchandise procurement business and technical processes.
• Proven business process and system design skills.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization.
• Highly analytical, fact based decision maker, with strong problem solving skills.
