Director SEC Reporting Google Sunnyvale

You will be responsible for all aspects of the external reporting, including establishing a vision for external reporting and leading the organization in execution. You will lead and develop a team, stakeholders and processes in the end-to-end delivery of complex, accurate and timely financial and/or regulatory reporting. You will also own the prioritization, preparation and review of complex regulatory reports, as well as analyze and address new and proposed changes to regulatory reporting requirements to determine the impact to Alphabet.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
Establish a long-term vision for the SEC reporting team, develop priorities, allocate resource and execute to deliver on the vision. Oversee preparation of SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q, 11-K, 8-K, Proxy, XBRL tagging, other filings). Be responsible for the supervision/coordination of information-gathering activities to ensure required schedules are obtained from other departments and diligence reviews to ensure the accuracy/integrity of information.
Be responsible for effective communication and coordination with critical stakeholders (investor relations, legal, CFO, etc.)
Manage internal and external reviews of all financial statements (subject matter experts, legal, senior management, disclosure committee, auditors). Drive six sigma process operational effectiveness and efficiency in the SEC filing process, including automation of process.
Be a thought leader - partner with investor relations, accounting, other finance teams, legal and business partners on future change in the business, industry or regulation with potential financial reporting impact, and proactively manage change throughout the organization and senior leadership in advance of deadlines. Engage with external parties (SEC, FASB, industry groups) in standard setting and initiatives impacting Alphabet.
Ensure appropriate controls over financial reporting are appropriately designed and operating. Work with team members to develop specific behaviors, skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of relevant experience.
Six sigma or equivalent process development experience.

Preferred qualifications:
20 years of relevant experience.
Experience with presenting to C-Suite leadership teams.
Highly collaborative with the ability to effectively manage multiple, complex, cross-functional projects simultaneously.
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strategic thinker that can come with point of view and initiate needed action.
Excellent communication, planning and leadership skills.
