HERE's Marketing & Communications team is looking for a Global Director of Media Relations (m/f), based in our Berlin office. In this position, you will play a leading role in positioning HERE as the global leader in the location intelligence business. As part of your remit, you will be responsible to develop and execute HERE´s global media strategy, steer the global media (relations) team, support our Leadership Team with their public presence and work together with our PR agencies in different countries.
You will lead our international Media Relations team, based in Berlin and Chicago, that supports an exciting and growing brand and get to communicate about a powerful portfolio of products and services. One of the challenges is to resonate with media absorbed with bigger-name technology companies and ensure that the team members have all the necessary support to conduct their diverse communications projects autonomously.
Your Mission
You have an excellent media network with tier1 media globally that you can leverage to proactively work with our stakeholders in the media to position HERE. You are able to rise to the occasion when you see the opportunity to positively impact media coverage of the business. As a creative and smart storyteller, you can translate a complex and ambitious business strategy into exciting stories for our stakeholders: journalists, bloggers and other opinion leaders. This role reports to the VP of Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities
Your Tasks
As a native communicator and storyteller, you comfortably interact with media in a highly volatile environment and have an established network with tier 1 media and influencers across the globe (especially in North America, Germany and the UK). Leading international teams is part of your repertoire. You are as well able to partner and debate on strategic and executive level, supporting our executive with speech writing and providing communications training. Additional experience as a journalist demonstrates your understanding of the media stakeholders you’ll be working with, therefore, delivering under time pressure and tough deadlines are energizing rather than exhausting.
After gathering 10 to 15 years experience in international media relations, corporate communications or a PR agency, you can easily create and execute a holistic quarterly and yearly communications plan, covering all areas of the communications disciplines in a B2B2C environment to ensure long-term success. You have a dedicated track record in B2B business and technology communications, ideally with experience in the software and automotive industry.

Your excelent communications and organizational skills are your highlights, added to your ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines. As a team lead, you can delegate tasks and make sure that team work runs smoothly. Your strategic communications mindset helps consulting our executives with new market trends. Flawless Engish (written and spoken) is a must and be prepared to travel 25% of your working time.
