Director Operations HARMAN International Tijuana

The Manufacturing Director is responsible for directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has 4 direct reports (Production, Materiales, Engineering, HPS) as well as 4 in dotted line (Human Resources, Finance, Quality & Supply Chain).
Essential Responsibilities:

Direct and manage plant operations for production, process engineering, facilities / maintenance, quality and material planning.
Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
Control and improve conversion costs including direct and indirect labor, scrap, premium freight and fixed costs.
Develop, implement and administer programs for improving manufacturing operations (Harman Production System, Factory Physics, 6s, Kaizen, etc.)
Prepare capital budget justifications and implement expenditures.
Participate in the development of policies that will guide the company in improving its competitive position and profitability.
Provides direction, development and leadership to functional managers.


Basic Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in related field.
Minimum 5+ years as plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
