The Director of Finance is a key leader in the organization who plans, manages, oversees and directs assigned Accounting/Finance functions including all staff, reporting and policies necessary to achieve Company and department objectives. Employees in this job classification are responsible for the preparation and reporting process for Company financial results and budget. The Director of Finance oversees the performance of assigned Financial Services areas which may include: Fixed Assets, Procurement, Business Analytics, Budgeting & Forecasting, Inventory, Tax, Treasury, Banking, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Sales Audit, and General Ledger. This job classification requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the ability to continuously work to improve results while driving operational and cost reductions.
Responsibilities
*Directs and monitors all financial activity of the organization.
*Oversees period and year end close, including management of journal entries, review of Company’s P&L, fluctuation analysis, and general ledger reconciliations.
*Prepares timely and detailed reports on financial performance; weekly, period, quarterly and annual basis.
*Prepares Company Financial statements on quarterly and annually basis.
*Manages and prepares supporting schedules for Board of Director Presentations.
*Oversee Company’s overall cash position, banking relationship with banking partners, credit card processor, and merchant cards.
*Develops financial models and pro forma scenarios for evaluating strategic plans.
*Manages the Company Capital Expenditure policy and additions, transfers, and retirements transactions for Fixed Assets.
*Manages coordination of non-merchandise procurement processes and Reverse-Auction process. Increases visibility of centralized Procurement process throughout the Company providing consistent and efficient sourcing opportunities.
*Implements company-wide budget plans in accordance with the requirements of company and conduct analysis to prepare rolling forecast.
*Oversees completion of tax related filings, audits and notices with tax department.
*Manages and coordinates in the provision of information to external audits.
*Lead, develop, educate, coach and retain finance team members; help ensure there are succession plans for leadership roles and promote a positive experience for team members as a servant leader.
Develops strategic plans and guiding principles for the department.
Interviews, selects, evaluates and recognizes team member results and actions.
Promotes a constructive work environment, organizing staff to accomplish work and meet business demands and encouraging initiative and risk taking.
Provides team with opportunities for on-going self-development.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus ten (10) years of broad and extensive experience in accounting/finance including two (2) years of management experience in public or private accounting. Experience with ERP systems (SAP is preferred). CPA designation is highly desirable. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Solid understanding GAAP

Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas to manipulate large amounts of data

· Excellent communication, leadership and management skills.

· Ability to quickly assimilate an understanding of business operations.

· Extremely knowledgeable in financial reporting, forecasting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster new and maintain long-standing business relationships.

· Willing to roll-up sleeves to get things done.



CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a business office environment. Occasional travel to outside locations or meetings. Ability to work extended hours, as required, in support of the company’s business needs.
