HR Director Microsoft Redmond

The AI+R and OPG HR team is currently seeking a HR Director to help support engineering, product management, and design teams in our OPG business, specifically with Office365, Mobile, Yammer, and Information Security. As a senior member of a small team, you will be helping to mentor, coach and develop new team members; lead HR programs/projects across both the businesses; and work with the senior-most leaders of these organizations regularly. Ideally, you are someone who likes to turn ideas into reality, conduct pilots before expanding further and deliver substantive business impact.
Practical and pragmatic application of structure, with a belief in lean and efficient processes and support mechanisms, is highly desired. Timeline orientation - a focus on deliverables, work back plans, and progress monitoring - is also important. Resiliency and agility to change focus and priority based on changing business demands will be crucial to success. In addition, you should have strength in one or more of the following: organization design, change management, internal communication, organization effectiveness, leadership development, and/or talent management. You will get transparent exposure to the context of the business, decision making processes, and priority setting. You will receive regular coaching and feedback on your development including direct commentary on your blockers and on how to use your strengths more effectively. And you will work across businesses and be engaged in projects across the AI+R and OPG HR organizations to broaden your exposure and impact.

Responsibilities
Partnering with business leaders to drive the people and organization agendas
Aligning your work, initiatives, programs, and projects to business drivers and strategy
Using systems models, diagnostics, and data to analyze organizational problems and provide solutions
Influencing cultural evolution through talent acquisition, rewards systems, employee engagement, leadership development, talent diversity, and creating an inclusive environment
Applying an array of strategic talent management solutions to continuously improve talent acquisition, retention, assessment, development, and career/professional growth
Leading scale projects cutting across multiple AI+R and OPG business units
Using consulting skills to effectively contract work with clients
Providing coaching to business leaders and working to improve effectiveness of leadership teams
Growing your HR and business understanding as you partner with leaders on varying team/business needs, pace and configurations (acquired employees, newly established teams, teams going through change

Qualifications
BS/BA degree is required
MBA or MA in HR-related field, along with a PHR/SPHR certification, is preferred
10 years of progressive experience in HR related fields required
Direct experience managing people/teams is required
