Director Business Integrity Research Operations Facebook Seattle

The Director of Business Integrity Research Operations will lead a global team of employees who are focused on proactive risk assessment and management. They will operate as a key leader and stakeholder within the Business Integrity team and across Facebook’s key cross-functional partner ecosystem, responsible for driving Research Operations efforts globally. Business Integrity’s “Integrity Research Operations team” is responsible for driving changes to Facebook’s platform as we protect our users and ensure safe connections between businesses, users and Facebook.
Candidates should have a background and passion for leading a team that is testing our platforms, researching the intersection of how global affairs and trans-national threats affect technology platforms and helping us proactively plan for the future. The successful candidate will effectively manage and develop a team that translates these trends and developments into clear analysis focused on how technology can be abused for unintended purposes, testing the threats against our own platform and experience in methodically identifying solutions for risk mitigation. The candidate will serve as an excellent people manager and partner to relevant teams to provide remediation guidance, build better detection and prevention systems, and close out vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities
Manage leaders and project managers with teams that conceptualize and produce impactful, data-driven, and compelling reports
Provide career development opportunities for team members, including tenured managers, and create solutions that will allow the team to scale
Develop an organization that scales with time and moves nimbly while driving short and long-term results
Build strong relationships with internal partners including Operations, Engineering, Policy, Legal and third-party partners
Communicate succinctly to various audiences
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems or similar)
15+ years of experience in online operations/consultancy/analytics or related industries
People management experience with experience recruiting and managing operations or investigation teams, including performance management
Experience managing other people managers
Experience developing and communicating research progress, findings, and recommendations
Experience translating concepts into language that is understood by audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders and external security community members and press
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MS/MA/MBA)
Experience managing and/or working with high-performance teams focused on Analytics (including developing data pipeline architecture, organizational metrics, and insights into problems) and Engineering (infrastructure, tool development, and system design)
Understanding of the online ecosystem, particularly tools and tactics used to accomplish specific objectives
Analytical ability with experience with data tools and SQL abilities
Ability to set and drive operational metrics, do staffing ROI analyses and drive data for OPEX conversations
Demonstrated success presenting complex research data (qualitative and quantitative) in a clear and compelling manner that inspires action
Experience managing remotely, across global regions
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities and global teams
