IoT services group is one of the two business units within arm, other being the Intellectual Property group which focuses on chip design. The ISG mission is to securely connect & manage the world of IoT devices and data. We're focused on harnessing IoT, so we can enable others to gain insights and thereby unlock new possibilities. ISG delivers Mbed as platform to enable this vision.
What will I be accountable for?
You will focus on defining system architecture for Mbed Cloud across various services including Device Management, Data Services, etc.
Work with M&A team to do due-diligence on possible acquisition opportunities and provide guidance on architecture
You will interact with product engineering teams to ensure parts of the platform integrate well together
Evangelize Mbed Cloud at technical conferences by presenting the technology&architecture
Partner with the sales team and travel to customer events when requested by the sales organization to present product architecture to customers/prospects
Do prototypes/build early version of the products working closely with the engineering teams
You are to guide the ecosystem team in partnership discussions to choose the right partners with technical fit
Work closely with Product and Technical Product Management teams to identify gaps in the product and options to accelerate the roadmap
Job Requirements
What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?
Previous experience in building cloud services at scale especially dealing with IoT, device management, Cloud data services, etc.
At least 7 years of experience as senior architect across multiple product lines and at least 12 years building and delivering commercial products
Experience in Agile/XP practices driving high productivity and great quality
Strong experience with high volume messaging systems like Kafka, mqtt, etc
Deep knowledge of Data Pipeline systems like Apex, Apache Beam, Flink, etc.
Previous experience with Hadoop eco system, No-SQL stores in production deployments
Strong focus on evaluating performance, scalability and reliability of cloud systems with insight into failure mode analysis as means to find system faults
Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, etc.
You are able to lead upwards, including presenting to senior leaders, driving new ideas and constructively challenge established methods when required
Strong record on delivery, both product delivery and organizational development
Enthusiastic and open-minded with the ability to motivate and inspire architects, engineers
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
Able to communicate in both spoken and written English
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Strength in interviewing and building high caliber teams
Experience of working in a multinational company across global sites
EDUCATION
A university degree in sciences, electrical/electronic or computer engineering, computer sciences or similar is preferred, but other disciplines will be considered with relevant experience.
