MS Operations Director Nokia Mexico City

The main purpose of the Operations Director is to:

Lead the Business
Plan cost baseline and manage costs and associated deviations according to CBT cost management processes. The CoD is accountable for costs, cost adherence and cost management.
Plan sales and manage scope as per SoPs. Ensure scope management on local level. Limit scope creep
Deliver the specific financial targets.
Define and support up sell opportunities and collaborate to achieve these.
Lead the Organization
Create and implement a local plan that drives for Organizational high performance. This includes understanding and implementing the delivery MoO. Ensuring that there is a Leadership Team defined, in place and working correctly with associated Management Practices. This must be documented and executed in a disciplined manner. All Team members in the entire local Organization are clear on expectations, feel empowered and are made accountable in respect to deliverables and expectations.
Lead and motivate the team (including all functions) through effective team work, open communication and NOKIA values to deliver best in class Services.

Lead the Service Execution
Execute services as per the defined Standard Operating Procedures/ Principles.
Execute services based on the NOKIA Principles and values.
Creates and executes local Transformation
Creates and executes local improvement plans

Leads the Business, Organizational, Service Management through a high performing Service Delivery Leadership Team – balancing all areas equally/ as needed.

Create a successful partnership with customer and his team to deliver the business objectives of the customer and NOKIA partnership. Create Value for the customer. Create a environment of trust that will facilitate profitable business and facilitate further (Service) business.

Drive for Partnership on a local level as well as customer level. Ensuring and reinforcing that the Customer leads the partnership and implements the project principles rather than micro manages the NOKIA Organization and ways of achieving the Objectives/ SLAs.

Work together with the Service Platforms (Engineering, GNOC, Support functions) to deliver the necessary network operation performance following NOKIA processes, tools and working practices. Drive for implementation of the NOKIA Ops model.

Ensure efficient way of working with other groups identifying synergies and cost efficiency.


Key responsibility areas:
Accountable for Service Business Management (P/L)
Accountable for Service Organizational Management and Excellence
Accountable for Service Delivery.
Ensure customer business priorities are understood, cascaded and successfully implemented by the team.
Main Customer liaison contact for daily and escalated operational matters
Accountable for Operations Contractual Service Delivery SLA/KPI
Ensures Network operational performance
Ensures 3rd Party Management SLA’s
Responsible for Operations Profit & Loss
Responsible for Operations Budgeting & Control
Ensure key business and management processes are in place and followed
Responsible for carrying out Operations service in accordance with NOKIA processes/practices provided by the Services Platforms and Functions
Ensures Operations processes and procedures are enforced, regularly reviewed and updated
Responsible for Operations accurate resource demand planning for all streams
Responsible for Operations Reporting to customer and internally
Supports Business Development pre and during Operations
Driving the NOKIA strategic targets, and supporting the business plans of the CT/CBT
Organizational Leadership, Management, Org. Development & Employee Motivation aligned with NOKIA Values.
Ensure internal alignment of Business and Team objectives with the Services organization
Responsible for internal, customer, and 3rd party effective Communication.
Leading change
Education / Qualification:
Bachelors or Master degree in Telecommunications or Electronics
15+ years experience from telecommunications: projects, operations
Experience from Operator business and network operations
Management and leadership experience

Experience / Skills:

A proven, results orientated operations manager with network operations experience in delivering complex and diverse service products and solutions. Process and cost optimization experience. Recognized leader of transformation execution and change management. Experienced in leading a large services organisation in a team based, customer centric structure with full profit and loss responsibilities.
