Director Artist Relations Engagement Minted San Francisco

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Artists & Partnerships, the Director of Artist Relations is responsible for building, nurturing, and celebrating Minted’s renowned independent artist community. This role will partner closely with senior management and the CEO to formulate strategy, represent our artists’ voice in Minted’s business decisions, and build Minted’s awareness in the broader creative world as the premier platform for emerging artists. This role will also lead Minted’s “nonprofit mission” to help creative people learn, grow as artists, meet like-minded creatives, and become commercially successful. The role is ideal for a structured, analytical thinker who is highly mission-driven and has a creative and nurturing spirit.
Key responsibilities include:

Partner with senior management to define Minted’s artist community strategy, mission, vision, and policies.
Develop marketing strategies and scalable programs for every stage of an artist’s lifecycle, including artist recruitment, onboarding, engagement, development, and retention.
Build Minted’s brand awareness among the creative world, making us widely known as the best place online for creative people to learn, commune, and build a business.
Employ a combination of data, technology, and human interaction to manage a growing community of more than 12,000 artists.
Build non-monetary rewards for participating in our community. Build on the fun, addictive nature of our competition model and help creatives build meaningful connections within our community.
Build retention programs that help us acknowledge and retain veterans and top-selling artists.
Improve the quality of output from our crowdsourcing model by offering artists scalable feedback, data, coaching, educational opportunities, and development programs.


Skills and experience required:

8+ years of professional experience
Contagious passion for art, design, and supporting creative people
Experience shaping and building a brand
Experience in community management or working with artists is a plus
MBA or management consulting experience are pluses, but not required
Very strong analytical skills, including modeling and metrics definition
Experience with process definition and process improvement
Understanding of organizational behavior, incentive design, and HR principals
Outstanding communication and follow-through
Strong influencer and cultural leader
Obsessive detail orientation
Interest in or experience with nonprofit management
