With the promotion of our current incumbent as the AMEA regional head, we are now searching for his replacement who would take up the role of Director Operations for Bacardi India. With 9 manufacturing sites in India and South-East Asia region (1 Bacardi plant and 8 third party co-packers), Supply Chain and Manufacturing India is core to the success of Bacardi in the region with the biggest opportunities and fastest growth in the world. Ensuring premium quality and safety, the key purpose of this role is to leverage the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics as an enabler to quickly respond to Market needs.
He / She should also manage and develop associated supply chain and manufacturing activities, processes, people and financial requirements, in order to support strategic vision and to achieve business objectives in alignment with the Managing Director and the Global operations function.
The role holder should ensure demand and supply are aligned to deliver the business plan at the optimum cost. The facilities include bottling and production, distilleries, distribution centers, and back office and regional teams.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Operations Leadership and Strategic Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive product supply strategic plan which will drive optimal customer service and profitability
Ensure good understanding of supply capacity and constraints and to facilitate cross-functional processes across the Region (Innovation, S&OP and Strategic Plan)
Focus main supply chain and manufacturing activities towards front end support and ensure good understanding of internal/external customers’ expectations by the supply chain and manufacturing community
Support Innovation Process through delivery of new product introduction across the Region
Establish policies, procedures, performance metrics, and resource requirements to ensure reliability, speed, convenience and best perceived value to the customer
Assess financial and business risks associated with key strategic and operational decisions
Develop and drive Lean and Continuous Improvement Program across the region in order to achieve improved customer service; faster cycles; reduction of waste and reduce delivering costs
Develop, implement and influence best practices across the Region. Ensure delivery and execution of Bacardi Operating System (BOS) as the way of working in all facilities.
Optimize the distribution network from plant to customers in order to ensure adequate level of services at the best cost
Ensure alignment and coordination of Commercial Hubs and Manufacturing sites (including Co-packers when needed) to achieve effective management of the product supply flow (e.g. Asset utilization & minimal disruption)
Establish policies, procedures, performance metrics, and resource requirements to ensure reliability, speed, convenience and best perceived value to the customer
Manage continuous improvement of the product supply: improved customer service; faster cycles; reduction of waste and reduce delivering costs
Liaise and interact with government and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and to facilitate changes and improvements within footprint and ways of working for Operations in the Region
Process Development / Management:
Identify and execute the ideal balance between customer service requirements, inventory optimization, manufacturing efficiencies, transportation and production capacity planning
Ensure respect of regulations associated with the Supply Chain activities (excises, importations, exportations) within the region
Participate to the Brand Innovation Process and facilitate the delivery of new product launch to meet stakeholder expectations
Scrutinize market and competitors to maintain an updated benchmarking assessment
Drive the demand and supply plan through the region and plants (within the region). Ensure that plans are established, monitored and reviewed to achieve efficient and timely distribution of products
Identify and execute the ideal balance between customer service requirements, inventory optimization, manufacturing efficiencies, including transportation and production capacity planning
Implement and maintain the process to prevent and monitor write-offs including action plans for reduction and control improvement (e.g. SKU rationalization)
Resolve short/medium term supply constraints (ex. quality, technical…) to deliver product on the agreed basis
Ensure critical material, bulk need (e.g. aging) & CAPEX investments meet long term demand plan
Measures of success
Performance: Achieve financial targets (COGS, profitability) vs. budget for Key Customers in the country
Value share: Drive Value share growth of key Bacardi brands in manufacturing sites
Operational scorecard: Achieve goals defined in Operational Scorecard and Country Capability Action Plan
Customer: Achieve target customer satisfaction measures
Strategy: Participate fully in the development, delivery, and ownership of the Country Operational Strategy
Employee engagement: Drive sustained improvement in engagement and enablement
Talent: Deliver against talent management objectives
Critical experiences for success
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
Experience in managing multiple plants of varying complexities at a national level in Beverages industry
People management experience including proven coaching abilities and leadership abilities to create a collaborative high performing team
Strong track record of delivery with internal Customers
Strong negotiation skills
Proven ability to establish greenfield projects
Proven ability of enhancing processes and S&OP process
Proficiency in English language skills
