P&L responsibility for the GULF region (Excluding Saudi Arabia) . Responsible to drive and deliver on short-term commitments (P&L) while preparing for longer-term sustainable growth through strategic initiatives for their region. The Country Director is also responsible for driving omni-channel growth by managing his/her business portfolio to include both retail and digital channels. The Country Director owns the relationship with both internal and external compliance/regulatory functions for the region. Region is made up of the following: Bahrain,. Oman,Qatar,Kuwait,UAE,Yemen.
• To manage and develop the relationship with existing and new agents in the Gulf – with the aim of further developing/growing Western Union business in an omni-channel approach.
Lead and work with members of cross-functional teams to achieve the plan;
Launch and manage the key global strategic initiatives across the region;
Build/expand the agent coverage and digital network to drive the WU business in accordance with agreed strategies set for the overall region;
Manage high level relationships with local authorities and regulators;
Responsible for driving growth reporting to the RVP - MEPA;
Responsible for developing and leading a country team with focus on development, coaching and succession planning for the region.
About you
Strong knowledge in the Money Transfer industry and the Gulf region market specifics
Experienced in Banking/Financial Service sector, Fintech.
Desirable experience with retail/digital financial products and the marketing strategies aligned to it
Knowledge of the Money Transfer industry is a strong asset, while understanding of the Gulf region ways of doing business is expected
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the region – up to 40% of time
Experience handling P&L responsibility
Fluency in English (2nd language desirable)
