Destination Sales Director Hotel Sales China MICE Discover Los Angeles Los Angeles

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed in order of importance:

1. Manage a pre-selected international end-user/third-party buyer portfolio consisting of Self-contained MICE Meetings accounts within their assigned international geographical region. Position will solicit and maintain these accounts with personal outside sales calls/trips, site inspections, customer targeted events, telephone solicitation, written and oral communication/presentations and continued file maintenance. In addition, this position is critical in the execution of complex multi-hotel site inspections for not only their own prospective buyers, but also on behalf of the International Regional Offices as well. Territory currently consists of: China, and other emerging markets as necessary. 40%
2. Serve as an active liaison/contact for all Lead Hotel members within the destination of Los Angeles, and for the entire portfolio of TMD and non-TMD Lead Hotels when required. This includes scheduled quarterly visits and all ad hoc request/communications, such as deployment updates, hotel renovations, travel/tradeshow/fam/mission coordination, and revenue strategizing including identifiying high-yield feeder markets, viable vertical segments, and critical need dates, etc. 20%
3. Participate in weekly/monthly sales meetings, sales strategy meetings, annual sales meetings, training, 1 on 1 bi-weekly meetings, and other sales related meetings, as required. 10%
4. Attend trade shows, industry/customer events, sales missions, fam trips and meetings determined to impact direct sales to the Los Angeles member Lead Hotels. 10%
5. Act as the subject matter expert for the their respective territories and maintain knowledge of market, member hotels, member venues, competitive destinations along with new and exisiting account prospects to be added to the Hotel Sales account portfolio. 5%
6. Accountable for established goals which is determined/renewed on an annual basis. 5%
7. Work in conjunction with the various programs to create strategies to secure future business 5%
8. Perform other duties as assigned. 5%

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
9. Regular, detailed and accurate use of the organization’s CRM (SimpleView) to manage and document all account, contact and proactive selling activity.
10. Regular and proficient use of online/digital sales tools including, but limited to, the meetLA website, meetLA App, Virtual Discovery virtual tour, Venue Finder tool, etc.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma and four-year college degree required. 4-6 years of experience required. Prior experience in DMO/CVB Group Sales, Multi-unit Hotel Group Sales, and/or Hotel NSO/GSO Sales experience preferred.

2. Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

5. Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
