ARM’s IoT Services Group (ISG) is a new business to develop and proliferate an industry-defining IoT Platform. Reporting to the President IoT Services Group, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining and driving the group’s strategy and technology direction for IoT services and technologies, ensuring the group has a sustainable market leading IoT roadmap aligned with ARM’s overall future strategy.
The role includes leading a technology and strategy team that is chartered with developing the strategy for a market leading IoT device services platform to ensure it has a sustainable market leading medium and long term roadmap.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Drive the ISG strategy development process, working closely with the corporate strategy function, to define and lead strategic initiatives to achieve ISG’s goals
Own M&A and investment recommendation for the ISG business
Work with other functions across ISG on the 10-year planning process
Communicate ISG’s strategy to the ARM Executive and the Board
Manage a high-performance team driving a culture of high engagement, empowerment, innovation and collaboration and implementing the key people processes including performance management, reward, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement
Job Requirements
Competences & Skills:
Deep technical and commercial experience in at least three of the following areas and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the remaining areas:
IoT Cloud services and infrastructure (including deploying at scale)
Device management services
Network services
Data management and analytics
Security and privacy
Device hardware and embedded software, including operating systems
Deployment of real world IoT use cases for business benefit using a combination of all of the above solutions
Has grown a business from startup to >$50m, with the ability to define the strategy and working with the management to scale the business appropriately.
Proven experience and with a successful track record of strategy development taken through to successful execution.
Inspiring leader who can empower and drive performance through a diverse international team.
Influential communication skills including written and presentation skills with the ability to present both internally and externally to customers, partners and at industry events and customize the message to many levels: Corporate board, executives, management & engineering.
Significant stakeholder management experience and be able to persuade or convince others to support an idea, agenda or direction.
Broad knowledge and understanding of technology and market trends of the IoT market, customers, competitors and current/future market trends.
Ability to work as a team player yet self-motivated, with a “can do” attitude and comfortable working with ambiguity.
Proven track record of working to deadlines reliably with minimal supervision.
Education Qualifications:
BSc / Masters / PhD or equivalent in Computer Science.
