WhatsApp seeks an experienced leader who is knowledgeable and passionate about messaging products and platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience developing product strategy, product marketing, brand marketing and operating a team across multiple disciplines, including Sales. She or he must thrive as a leader of cross-functional teams, exhibit excellent analytical skills and have a track record of growing product adoption and revenue with large and small businesses. Experience with non-US, non-Western European markets is preferred. This person should be analytical and a data driven decision-maker, an outstanding communicator with a proven ability to simplify complex concepts. This is a full-time position based at WhatsApp headquarters in Menlo Park.
Recruit, manage and develop a team focused on launching business & consumer products in key WhatsApp markets globally.
Create quarterly and bi-annual programs to drive adoption of critical products and grow both consumer usage and revenue in target markets.
Establish programs to understand and leverage the WhatsApp brand with consumers and businesses.
Represent the team and the business internally and externally.
This person’s team will inform product strategy in partnership with product management and engineering and drives the go-to-market plan for every product in the portfolio through the following skills:
Identify significant long-term opportunities based on research, analysis and a locally-informed view of the direction of the market.
Market assessment and requirements including opportunity size, competitive analysis, target customers and product requirements.
Represent voice of the market including qualitative and quantitative feedback on product from clients and partners.
Manage product alphas and betas to direct product refinements and identify critical client needs that must be met by the product in order to launch.
Define and manage comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan including positioning, launch strategy, PR, sales and partner materials.
Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams (including PR, design, product, and engineering stakeholders) to deliver world-class products to the market.
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years professional experience creating programs that grew adoption of internet based consumer and/or business products.
5+ years management experience with a demonstrated track record of recruiting and developing top talent.
Proven ability to drive strategic decision making and grow operating metrics.
Ability to work in a cross-functional capacity within a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
