Sr Director Product Marketing Rackspace San Francisco

We are looking for a leader that has Product Marketing experience in a multi-cloud portfolio company, Google Cloud specifically.

This is anticipated as being the fastest growing business in Rackspace that we’ve ever had in our company history and will need someone who has worked in a high growth environment and understands how to grab market share. In this role you will work directly with the Google Cloud marketing team and leverage the central Marketing organization to execute on inbound and outbound marketing efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Develop marketing funnel model with the targets at each layer of the funnel and then track the actuals against the targets

Identify the target market segments, key buyers, use cases and targeted workloads

Design campaigns, programs and offline market plans to achieve the funnel targets.

Oversee a product marketing budget that you coordinate with central corporate marketing to determine spend levels, channels, etc.

Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products leveraging the central corporate marketing organization to execute your product marketing plan

Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market

Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products

Create content for sales training, for the website, for case studies, events etc.

Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan

Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them

JOB COMPLEXITY:

Strategic Direction - defines strategic components of product marketing plans, in conjunction with executive team.

Directs definition of marketing tactical plans for each product area in conjunction with managers and business unit directors, ensuring that tactical plans reflect strategic objectives.

Ensures that product marketing plans are consistent with company goals and objectives.

Implements established product requirements, priorities, marketing research strategies, and revenue attainment plans through product planning managers.

Evaluates team recommendations on new product ideas for financial and market potential.

Cross-functional Management - coordinates activities of the department with employee education, sales, and customer/product support to resolve issues that will affect product success.

Portfolio Management - works to differentiate the product/product family in the market place in an ongoing manner, and is responsible for the financial attainment of key product/service portfolios.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

Requires Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or Marketing.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree highly desirable.

Typically requires a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a product support, product planning, or consulting environment with at least five years of profit and loss responsibility and people management experience.
