AMD is looking for an aggressive, high energy communications professional responsible for driving results-oriented PR in a fast paced environment, and driving external communication programs that align with AMD business goals. This role reports to the Sr. Director, WW Marketing, Radeon Technologies Group, and serves as a member of RTG Marketing senior staff. The role involves developing news media strategy, content and presentations for graphics products in the gaming, professional graphics and compute spaces and will drive strategic storytelling programs to bring fresh perspective to a 30 year-old technology brand, built on the introduction of the best product lineup in the company's history.

Defines comprehensive media strategy and oversees planning, execution and management of media communications for AMD's Client Group businesses
Forge new -- and deepen existing -- relationships with strategic news media spanning business, technology, gaming, virtual reality, and content creation audiences.
Devise strategy for global product review programs - from hardware and technology sites and publications, to YouTube and Twitch broadcasters, to consumer lifestyle
Develop external thought leadership and communications plans to enhance AMD's reputation and drive brand preference
Drive compelling reporting and metrics that demonstrate business impact
Contribute to content strategy for enterprise, consumer, gaming, and professional creator market segments.
Measure all programs and adjust plans as necessary for optimal results and success.
Responsible for management of external creative and public relations agencies and associated annual budgets
Must demonstrate ‘beyond exceptional’ writing skills
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in journalism, public relations or communications
More than 10 years of experience as a communications/PR professional in the technology industry preferred
Experience managing and hiring PR professionals
PR agency and/or corporate PR experience
Proven track record in counseling senior management on communication strategy
Ability to articulate highly technical product information in general terms
Strong media relations/PR background; relationships with tech industry media required
Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing short and long-term media communication plans, and the ability to work effectively with senior executives, product management and partners.
The ability to work effectively under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously
The ability to think and communicate clearly, impeccable organizational skills
Must be versatile with a strong character and a strong team orientation
Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills; rigorous attention to detail and quality
Travel and flexible work schedule required
