Sr Director Technical Product Management Visualization GE Oil & Gas San Ramon

The Senior Director – Visualization, Technical Product Management will be responsible for defining the product portfolio roadmap and owning the Visualization & Mobility product roadmap within the O&G Digital product portfolio. He/She will be responsible for developing the strategy, and execution of the O&G Digital software solution framework, and drive the adoption of GE Digital product suite across the GE O&G.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will be establishing priorities, rationalizing technologies, & collaborating with business
stakeholders across the organization while driving product innovation. The incumbent will interact closely with Architecture team, GE Digital teams, and O&G Product teams internal stakeholders to drive the long-term roadmap and adoption for the platform overall and visualization framework specifically. You will be recognized as a domain expert capable of credibly engaging customers, engineering, marketing, sales and other stakeholders, and you will provide guidance and oversight to a team of Technical Product Managers. This role will report to the VP of Technical Product Management – Oil & Gas Digital.

In this role, you will:


Work with Product Leadership Team to translate the Business vision into long term strategies & roadmap
Support Definition and evolve the software architecture to support the long term product vision
Explore potential new technologies advising on build vs. buy approach to senior leadership
Establish relationship across GE business units on developing a roadmap for visualization & mobility
Manage new technology implementations and/or technical architecture projects for the long-term needs or for risk mitigations
Define the functional execution strategy, and oversee execution, integration and deployment of end user features in conjunction with technical architecture and non-functional requirements
Work with multiple stakeholders (internal & external) to define the overall scope of their work and define the Quality metrics needed to monitor the performance of the ongoing work
Define the nonfunctional requirements associated with the systems working closely with technical leadership
Drive testable feature design and automation strategy across the solutions
Support the Agile product owners for ongoing development sprints prioritizing features to be developed based on technical competency and end user value metrics
Work directly with defined end users to align prioritized features for Agile development
Communicate business objectives and priorities for near term and long term to technical execution teams by leveraging technical experience
Develop business & technical collateral material (such as data sheet, product overview, FAQ, demo)
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science or Information Technology)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Visualization Software design and / or development for industrial solutions
GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed
Eligibility Requirements:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
Must be willing to travel (40%)
Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

Desired Characteristics
Agile & SCRUM development experience
Demonstrated program management and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle
Technical Expertise:

Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science or Information Technology)
Demonstrated ability to work with senior technology leadership and architects to support development of system architecture to support functional roadmap Knowledgeable of relevant technologies for development of dashboards, data analysis tools, GIS components and 2D/3D image viewers.
Demonstrated ability to work with senior technology leadership and architects to support development of system architecture to support functional roadmap Knowledgeable of relevant software such as D3, High-Charts, INT GeoToolkit, DGI CoViz; and web standards such as HTML5, SAS70, H.264, Web, HTML5 Web Components, Polymer, React, ReactJS, Flux, CSS3, Ajax, jQuery, AngularJS, BackboneJS, Node.js, Python, RESTful Web Services, PHP, Ruby on Rails etc.
Experience with developing dashboards and applications utilizing BI tools such as Tableau, Scisence, Pentahu, and Power BI.
Demonstrated experience of Agile software development of customer facing industrial applications
Demonstrated experience leading virtual development teams with ability to prioritize respective work scopes to meet customer facing contract requirements
Demonstrated development of large-scale, web-based solutions involving multiple systems and demonstrated experience in Strategy definition, System & Solution Design, Estimation, Development across various stake holders, System Integration, Acceptance, Deployment, Operations & Monitoring
Demonstrated architectural development of (or should be knowledgeable to architect) systems.
Functionally architected (or should be knowledgeable to architect) Cloud based solutions and SAAS offerings
Leadership:

Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
