Social Media Communications Manager Fox Film Tv Sports San Diego

We are searching for a Social Media and Communications Manager to support FOX Sports West and FOX Sports San Diego. The position will be based out of the FOX Sports San Diego location. The role is responsible for creating and implementing an integrated and comprehensive social media and communications strategy to strengthen and maintain the network’s position among local sports fans. The incumbent will be charged with enhancing the network’s abilities to serve the local sports community by directly engaging fans through a variety of platforms, with emphasis on social media. He/she will coordinate efforts with FOX Sports’ corporate office as necessary in order to maximize the effectiveness and reach of the company’s communications strategies and social media platforms.
The overall goal is to utilize social media to drive tune-in to the network’s programming including live San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Clippers, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings telecasts and regional and network shows, provide customer service, and manage programming conflict communication with viewers. The secondary goal is to manage general PR and communications execution including drafting and distributing press materials, responding to inquiries from the press and public, and managing internal reporting and communication. Additional goals include building relationships with team partners and FOX national counterparts to better foster communities and influence conversations around the teams and national properties, compiling comprehensive social impression reports and analysis, designing dynamic social graphics, and generally bolstering the overall local sports community.

Essential Functions:
Create comprehensive communications and social media strategy and tactics to better connect with fans and build brand affinity for the network. Goal is to position networks as the primary means for the local sports community
Manage the distribution and creation of social media content to engage the sports community, drive tune-in, and support relationships with team partners
Engage with fans and post relevant content during all live events including San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Clippers, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings telecasts on both FOX Sports San Diego and FOX Sports West social media accounts
Maintain the brand’s current “voice” across all social platforms
Design dynamic graphics for use on social platforms to further enhance the network’s branding, messaging and/or content being posted
Utilize social media to provide customer service to viewers
Build relationships with team partners’ social media counterparts and working to coordinate joint messaging and shared social support
Work with production teams to integrate social media into live and produced programs on the linear channel to further engage the viewing audience
Act as internal liaison with other FSSD departments, such as marketing, sales, programming, production and digital, on company-wide social media strategies and uses
Use social media to engage other FOX Sports properties and support national initiatives
Engage other social accounts, such as local sports media, other FOX Regional Sports Networks and popular bloggers to further reach fans and grow social presence
Monitor social trends and following So Cal sports to keep the network’s presence in the social space current and fresh
Interact with executives (local and corporate) to ensure strategy and positioning is appropriate, timely and consistent with overall strategy
Manage internal and corporate communication and reporting of social media metrics
Develop and distribute press materials including releases, press kits, etc. used to promote FOX Sports San Diego
Support the Director of Marketing in communicating network branding, event activation and other marketing messages across all platforms
Serve as backup support to Digital Content Manager of FOXSportsSanDiego.com
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years in marketing, media relations, or social media with established track record of creating and managing social media strategies and campaigns to reach consumers
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent field.
Extensive knowledge of the local sports community and the ability to foster strong relationships and connections with the fans
Dynamic personality and relationship builder to recruit support within the network and team partners
Strategic and creative thinker that can create integrated communications plans
Excellent writing, communication, organizational, and editorial judgement skills
Experience drafting formal press releases and coordinating PR opportunities
Keen sense of the power of social media and digital media
Thorough knowledge of (but not limited to), Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, Mass Relevance, HootSuite (or the like), Shoutlet, User Generated Content platforms
Deep knowledge of best practices in digital and social media
Fluent understanding of media platforms and the ability to foresee trends
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Able to work a schedule that includes frequent nights, weekends, & holidays
Ability to work in design software (Photoshop/Adobe) and create dynamic graphics
Experience posting articles to a website using a CMS is a plus
