Mobile Student Engagement Director Blackboard Washington

The Director of Mobile Student Engagement will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for:
Lead Blackboard’s mobile student app(s)
Elicit market problems through market research, productive relationships with customers across Blackboard’s client base, and internal sources of market knowledge and expertise; prioritize those problems against market and business needs; and own requirements definition in support of solving those market problems
Manage offerings through their full life cycle from concept to end of support
Collaborate daily with remote product design and development teams to ensure projects are clearly defined and properly phased to facilitate timely delivery of products
Oversee business-level verification and market beta testing of new capabilities
Drive solution definition and go-to-market activities in support of achieving revenue goals for the products and services
Own and develop multi-quarter product roadmap
Lead and work with the operational services and delivery teams across Blackboard to ensure operational readiness including developing delivery materials and training delivery resources on new services
Own and synthesize ongoing win/loss, and selling obstacles and needs
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree
Mobile experience
Product management experience
Experience with technology
Demonstrated communication, analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to think strategically
Fluency in written and spoken English are required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

MBA desirable
Five years or more or experience in education, mobile and/or technology
Ability to command an effective presence amongst senior leaders of educational institutions
The ability to guide and work with cross-functional teams, and the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
Collaborative individual, with relationship building skills that generate product enthusiasm and produce results beyond expectations
Demonstrated innovation and creative thinking/problem-solving in developing and managing a portfolio of solutions that are compelling and game-changing
Strong customer focus, identifying business problems through a variety of techniques including face to face interviews, surveys and customer advisory boards and the skills to be able to communicate how these capabilities contribute to solving Institutions larger business challenges
Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
Independent, self-starter with strong prioritization, project management and coordination skills; and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment
Ability to travel 25%
