EHS Director PepsiCo Plano

This position reporting to the Sr. Diir of EHS, contributes to the success of FLNA by providing EHS leadership and direction and enabling EHS risk mgmt including risk identification/evaluation/control/regulatory compliance in the dynamic industry of manufacturing and warehousing.

The Supply Chain Diir (FLNA)-Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) will be responsible for:
Deploying, managing, and leading the field EHS team in implementing strategy of OSHA, EPA, and DOT strategy in the dynamic industry of manufacturing and warehousing inclusive of the Frito Lay businesses
Maintaining EHS compliance, assessing and mitigation of risk, and facilitating continuous EHS improvement by working closely with field EHS teams and location staff in the development and deployment of the Annual Operating Plan and EHS Performance to Plan
Acting as a key input point for development of the Annual Operating Plan and provide input on future EHS strategy
Development of EHS Filed Execution Managers and their direct reports to ensure the staffing of the field EHS organization and also working succinctly with other EHS HQ-based team members in the overall EHS agenda
Be a EHS leader for the company and be able to engage, motivate, and align the FLNA org towards designated EHS objectives, as well as be a part of the development, recommendation, and implementation of division EHS policies and procedures. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class EHS programs for the improvement of the overall EHS strategy and execution of that strategy. Member of the EHS FLNA Leadership team, led by the Sr. Dir of EHS.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide technical and regulatory expertise in developing EHS continuous improvement processes and determining needed follow up activities associated with EHS incidents, agency inspections, and/or internal/external audits
Conduct periodic plant visits and EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Zero Zone Management System standards, and internal FLNS EHS procedures
Execute projects related to overall EHS plan deployment, understand key performance indicators, benchmark amongst PepsiCo FLNA locations to determine target location opportunities.
Develop and perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
Participate in the development of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that deliver best in class EHS performance and demonstrate a high level of urgency around needed EHS paradigm culture shift change
Analyze key EHS data and help develop prevention plans to address process or risks gaps. Think strategically and ensure EHS Performance plans are timely, achievable, and performance based
Exercise a leadership/coordination/communication role with internal EHS organization, other business partners such as Engineering/Human Resources/Operation businesses to drive continuous EHS improvement across the organization
Define/analyze data trends and EHS performance to ensure that the right priorities are identified and acted upon for organization
Coach leaders at all levels within the organization and use strong influencing skills around EHS goals/values and that a strong EHS culture ensures business productivity targets can be met
Identify issues, coach and lead field locations in development of a corrective action plan to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (5-Why, 8-D, etc.). Oversee/lead direct/indirect reports
Qualifications:

Min of 10 yrs of exp in a manufacturing/fleet as an EHS professional
Extensive knowledge/exp with EHS mgmt systems and their deployment
Demonstrated ability to manage multi country EHS programs/people
Displays strong problem solving/organizational/analytical skills
Understands and can articulate EHS requirements/regulations
Effective communication/interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings/training environments
Demonstrates professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader
Lead/supervise/manage/develop individuals and high performance teams
Travel up to 50% (dependent on business needs/fluctuation)
CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE desirable
