As a key member of the Sabre Strategy and Business Development team, the Director Corporate Strategy will assume a strategic role in the overall growth and success of Sabre as an enterprise. Reporting to the Sabre SVP of Strategy and Business Development, this position will be responsible for assisting in designing, implementing and maintaining the long-term growth strategy for Sabre. This role will partner with other members of the corporate strategy team, corporate development team (M&A), and team members in the business units to develop corporate strategy, evaluate new growth platforms (adjacency opportunities, acquisitions, and partnerships), and lead cross-functional Sabre Key Initiative teams.

Enterprise retailing & merchandising strategy: Lead a team of cross-functional resources to identify and develop retailing capabilities that span the organization. Define workplan, roles and responsibilities, and deliverables. Develop current state retailing factbase. Generate insights into the types of retailing opportunities that are logical to develop at an enterprise level versus those that should remain in the Business Units. Share your recommendations with CEO, CFO, and business unit Presidents and begin implementing capabilities with beta customers
Commercial model evolution: Work closely with President, SVP Supplier Commerce, and SVP Marketing of Travel Network Business Unit to identify options to evolve our pricing model to travel suppliers and agencies. Define the expected benefits of a commercial model evolution. Test benefits via airline, hotelier, and agency interviews. Oversee financial modeling to understand sensitivity of commercial model changes. Begin implementing changes through negotiations and contractual renewals
Adjacency growth: Define the capabilities that drive competitive advantage for the business (define the core). Present core definition to business unit Presidents and work to achieve alignment on a common definition of core. Screen adjacent business models against those capabilities to identify attractive M&A targets. Present findings and recommendations to CEO, CFO, business unit Presidents and other business leaders. Work with corporate development to diligence targets and complete acquisition

Limited travel: Current Director Corporate Strategy joined May 2015 and has spent three night away from home
Path to P&L role: Your access to leaders and diversity of roles will make you a natural fit for P&L roles in the existing business units or in adjacent growth platforms

Qualifications
5-8 years of relevant experience including a successful track record of developing and implementing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, competitive analysis and business planning
Uncompromising integrity, character and intellectual honesty; one who strives to do the right thing and deliver quality results; an executive with the courage and conviction to speak their position
Financially astute business leader with sound decision making, strategic acumen, process improvement and analytical problem solving capabilities
Strong executive presence and previous experience relating to key customers and articulating company direction, plans and approach, both in one-on-one environments and presenting to larger groups
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management, with the capability to guide, educate and influence the thinking of senior decision makers
Strong internal and external relationship-building and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and complex strategic analysis projects
Previous experience with large, geographically-dispersed, multi-functional organizations
An undergraduate degree in an area of rigorous study is required. An MBA is preferred, but not required. Experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm is preferred
