The Executive Director, Product Integrity is responsible for managing the global, enterprise-wide product integrity standards program for the Company, providing consumer product safety and reliability, engineering expertise as well as product safety oversight. Role objectives:
Provide input into the direction and development of a cohesive supply chain compliance function comprised of international labor standards, product integrity, conflict minerals, paper policy and other supply chain compliance functions, as appropriate.
Apply subject matter expertise to compliance, policy discussions, and support integrated stakeholder engagement across the supply chain compliance domain.
Responsibilities
Provide overall management for the global, enterprise-wide international product integrity program
Manage a large, regionally based international team, contribute to the five year plans and manage the annual PI operating budget
Partner closely with internal colleagues to ensure a unified stakeholder engagement approach to supply chain compliance matters
Provides input into approach and strategy for how and where product integrity services should be leveraged, in close partnership with the VP Responsible Sourcing
Provide subject matter expertise on international consumer product rules and regulations and applicable technologies, as appropriate
Provide subject matter expertise in the assessment of emerging industry issues and the interpretation of program policies to new and acquired business within the area of product integrity
Work closely with segments, Legal, other internal subject matter experts and stakeholder groups to review and develop new requirements and test methods
Provides subject matter expertise to develop best practices on consumer product safety procedures, regulations, and testing compliance measures
Provides regional/local support to manufacturing and other locations worldwide to aid in resolving testing and procedural issues as needed
As necessary, coordinates recalls for safety issues involving product related injury or death
May contribute subject matter expertise as it relates to policy development and execution
Acts as a technical resource and safety consultant to internal stakeholders across the compliance domain to inform of changes in global requirements
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an Engineer or Project Manager in consumer Product testing, safety, manufacturing and reliability, with exposure at an international level
Leadership Skills:
A self-starter, who can effectively navigate a complex organizational structure, leading teams through influence and direct line management
Ability to establish global relationships, making connections across the stakeholder groups across the compliance domain.
Previous experience in managing both direct and indirect teams
Has shown the ability to initiate change and act with integrity when tough decisions have to be made
Additional Skills:
Demonstrated track record of operationalizing a vision, creating a technical roadmap, and effectively implementing systems.
Product integrity expertise as well as knowledge of managing chemicals
Demonstrated knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes/systems and current best practices
Demonstrated experience in forecasting, accounting and finance to both manage the allocations as well as the testing budgets
Excellent communication and experience influencing key stakeholders, both internal and external
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation and group dynamics skills
Willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated skill at an international level
Knowledge of international consumer product rules and regulations.
Demonstrated vendor and license management experience.
Understanding of technology and big data
Expertise in identifying emerging customer trends
Required Education
BS degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline required
Preferred Education
Master’s degree desired
