The Regional Director, Loss Prevention & Safety will create and implement Loss Prevention and Safety programs for corporate owned and managed gyms. This role will drive strategies that reduce company shrink, and improve bottom line profitability. The Regional Director, Loss Prevention & Safety will provide sound and consistent leadership to field operations and gym teams in the management of critical incidents.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Director to work closely with senior management to create new, innovative approaches to ensuring prevention and safety across their respective region. Consistent collaboration with retail, facilities, finance, operations, training and legal departments is critical for this role.

Responsibilities


Shrink and Safety Programs

Manages the creation and implementation of programs designed to protect company assets from loss, due to internal/external theft and fraud
Provides on-site operational analyses/audits of potential risks and develops appropriate and effective strategies to reduce company loss and shrink
Reviews physical security standards and provides guidance on emergency response, as needed
Develops strong business partnerships with Senior and Regional Vice Presidents, as well as, District Managers
Provides strategic guidance to senior management on workers’ compensation, workplace accidents, illness and prevention programs
Develops, administers and maintains company’s emergency response plans

Investigations

Conducts and manages internal theft and fraud investigations to reduce loss or risk for the company
Works closely with Human Resources and Legal Departments on personnel relations matters, or member and public relations implications
Conducts necessary investigations and works closely with law enforcement or other outside agencies to resolve member incidents, vehicle thefts, bomb threats, Kids’ Club disruption, etc.
Maintains knowledge of new and existing relevant laws, rules and regulations and takes actions appropriate to ensure timely compliance and communication to appropriate departments

Team Development

Assists with identifying, recruiting, hiring and training new corporate and field loss prevention personnel, as needed
Educates and motivates District and Gym teams to achieve company profit and shrink goals
Works with gym leadership teams to train staff, identify and address areas of loss or safety


Record Maintenance

Regularly reviews company exception reports to determine highest risk locations, conducts thorough company compliance audits, and accurately documents internal theft/fraud investigations, to mitigate company risk


Performance Standards

Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) merchandising, visual, localization, customer service, resulting in improved sales and profit
Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree preferred; related work experience required
Wicklander-Zulawski basic, advanced and telephone interviewing certification preferred
Able to synthesize and report safety and loss requirements in an accurate, clear and streamlined manner
Creative and innovative thinker with an ability to translate ideas and metrics into simple actionable recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to foster a strong loss prevention and safety culture
Agility with financial reports, budgets and various metrics
Strong analytical, logical and problem solving skills
Professional presence, polished communication skills and proven ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of associates
Innate interest in and desire for continuous learning and personal development
