As an Associate Director of front-end engineering at ESPN, you will lead a team that builds and maintains complex web applications that serve and delight sports fans across the globe. You will work with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to deliver scalable, elegant solutions for new features and core site architecture.

Responsibilities
Lead team of engineers helping to build ESPN’s core digital products at scale
Mentor and provide feedback to junior engineers
Work closely with Bristol CT. based engineering teams to deliver best solutions
Partner with product and project management to refine specs and timelines
Architect and develop core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript
Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years relevant industry experience including 4+ in a supervisory capacity
Experience leading teams in a globally distributed environment
Proven track record of employee development
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Comprehensive understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles including; knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies
Required Education
BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent.
