ARCHITECTS, DESIGNS, DEVELOPS AND SUPPORTS WORKFLOWS AND TECHNOLOGIES GEARED TOWARD ADVANCING THE MEDIA POST PRODUCTION PIPELINE, IN FEATURE PRODUCTION AND POST PRODUCTION. RESEARCHES AND EVALUATES NEW HARDWARE, ACQUISITION SYSTEMS, PRODUCTION AND POST-PRODUCTION TOOLS AND PARADIGMS AND MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO TECHNOLOGY/ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT ON ADOPTIONS AND DIRECTION. PROVIDES TEAM LEADERSHIP IN COORDINATING THE WORK OF OTHER DEPARTMENTAL PERSONNEL AS WELL AS OUTSIDE VENDORS. SERVES AS A KEY MEMBER OF POST PRODUCTION WORKFLOWS AND ACTS AS A SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND ARCHITECTURE
DEVELOPS DEPARTMENTAL STANDARDS, GUIDELINES AND METHODOLOGIES FOR CURRENT AND UPCOMING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS.
PARTICIPATES IN DEFINING CURRENT AND UPCOMING WORKFLOWS
DOCUMENTS AND MAINTAINS WORKFLOWS TO HELP AUTOMATE AND OPTIMIZE THE PRODUCTION PIPELINE.
2. TECHNOLOGY REVIEWS
RESEARCHES AND REVIEWS NEW SYSTEMS WITHIN THE POST PRODUCTION AND VISUAL EFFECTS PRODUCTION LANDSCAPE.
EVALUATES NEW TECHNOLOGIES AGAINST COMPETITORS AND VALIDATE THE USABILITY OF THE TECHNOLOGY.
EDUCATES TEAM AND FOX TECHNOLOGY/ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT IN NEW TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS.
3. SECURITY
WORKS CLOSELY WITH TECHNOLOGY/ ENGINEERING AND CONTENT SECURITY TO ESTABLISH AUDITS
WORKS CLOSELY WITH IT TO PROVIDE A SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR POST PRODUCTION.

4. PROJECT SUPPORT
WORKS CLOSELY WITH FEATURE AND TV POST-PRODUCTION TEAMS TO DELIVER CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO COMPLEX TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGES AND BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS.
RECOMMENDS AND OVERSEES TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS, ARCHITECTURE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION TIME LINE IN SUPPORT OF PRODUCTION APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS.
ENSURES INFRASTRUCTURE STANDARDS AND BEST PRACTICES ARE FOLLOWED.
5. PRODUCTION SUPPORT
WORKS CLOSELY WITH POST PRODUCTION SUPERVISORS TO SUPPORT ON-GOING PRODUCTIONS.
DOCUMENTS THOROUGHLY THE POST PRODUCTION PIPELINE AND GAINS A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM BEING SUPPORTED
DEVELOPS STANDARDS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AS WELL AS BEST PRACTICES DOCUMENTATION
6. DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
DEVELOPS ENGINEERING GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDED PRACTICES FOR POST PRODUCTION WORKFLOWS
RECOMMENDS TESTING GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATING NEW DEVICES AND SOFTWARE.
IDENTIFIES NEW WORKFLOWS AND TOOLS AND HELPS INTRODUCE THEM INTO PRODUCTION.
DEVELOPS RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER INDUSTRY GROUPS TO HELP ESTABLISH DIRECTION OF FUTURE POST PRODUCTION WORKFLOWS
7. ADMINISTRATIVE
COMMUNICATES STATUS AND ISSUES TO MANAGEMENT ON A REGULAR BASIS, AND ESCALATES ISSUES EXPEDIENTLY.
WORKS WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS WITHIN FOX, AS WELL AS 3RD PARTY VENDORS TO CONTINUALLY IMPROVE PRODUCTION SUPPORT LEVELS.
PARTICIPATES AS SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) AS REQUIRED FOR DESIGN REVIEWS AND TECHNOLOGY AND TOOL SELECTION.
COMMUNICATES PLANS, STATUS AND ISSUES TO MANAGEMENT ON A REGULAR BASIS.
ADHERES TO DEPARTMENT STANDARDS, POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
Mastery level knowledge of Feature Post Production workflows, from acquisition to final theatrical release.
Mastery level knowledge of practices and methodologies employed for digital finishing and mastering and distribution in the M&E space.
Comprehensive knowledge of current internet distribution technologies.
Comprehensive hands-on knowledge of Content Security practices in the Post Production arena.
Good knowledge of Visual Effects tools and current production practices and standards.
Good knowledge of standard Editorial practices, Theatrical Trailer practices, Visual Effect Practices and Archival Practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diversified workload.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, clients and other IT personnel.
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage consultants and outside contractors.
Ability to write and present effective materials, including presentations, status reporting, technical diagrams and flowcharts.
Minimum 10 years Post Production experience in a hands-on technical post-production environment supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
Hands-on familiarity with Virtual Production, PreVis, PostVis and TechVis tools and practices.
Experience working with Digital Acquisition Systems, Digital Projection Systems, Digital Production Pipelines as well as managing final deliverables.
Experience in Content Security and general Media Asset Management practices.
Familiarity with Image Processing, Audio and Video codecs.
