Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Risk division is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The role will report to the head of WM Risk, who reports to the Co-Heads of Wealth Management. The COO will work with the head of WM Risk, his senior Risk management team, as well as other key internal stakeholders, to support the management of the day-to-day operations, resources and financials of the WM Risk organization.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
· Strategic Planning and Initiatives: Work closely with the head of WM Risk and take a leadership role in driving various key strategic initiatives with respect to the WM Risk organization
· Business Management and Financial Analysis: Budget/forecast data collection, financial oversight of Risk cost centers, and analyses of costs incurred; proactively identifies opportunities to improve functions with significant impact across departments
· Resourcing: Validation and approval of all resources for both FTE and contingent labor; approvals of new hires, transfers, and terminations; resource administration including monthly tracking, reporting and forecasting; active participation in office space planning and management
· Communications: Provide support and guidance to management for communication of departmental strategy; develop and deliver presentations regarding initiatives and business strategies for senior management and regulators; coordination with key partners in the organization including the Wealth Management business, IT, Operations, HR, Finance, Marketing, Legal and Compliance; escalates and coordinates decision making across the franchise as required
· Management: Manage coordination of business-related process across the division which may include travel and expense management, event management, updating organizational charts, and assisting with reporting
· Special Projects: Production of ad-hoc presentations for senior management and external regulators. Coordination of town halls and other forums. Involvement with employee process and engagement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS
· 10+ years’ experience in risk management, financial industry and/or business management. Knowledge related to risk management and Wealth Management strongly preferred
· Excellent verbal/written communications with ability to tailor message to audience
· Proven ability to work across departments to influence others at senior levels and build strong relationships
· Demonstrated leadership in setting strategy and driving an agenda
· Strong people and process management skills
· Ability to delegate effectively and manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives
· Ability to work independently and possess a strong sense of accountability/ownership
· Strong organizational and analytical skills – COO background useful
· Ability to use desktop tools to develop presentations for senior management- working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
